Why were the Modifications Discontinued? >Six-cylinder 3956 cc in-line petrol engine and chassis were never designed to carry the massive weight of thick steel plates. The added weight ruined the suspension, drastically reduced the vehicle's speed, and caused frequent mechanical breakdowns. >While the armour stopped AK-47 rounds, the flat underside of the JONGA directed the blast of landmines and IEDs straight up into the cabin, even with sandbags on the floor. >By the late 1990s, rather than trying to order factory built armored JONGAs, the Army shifted its procurement entirely. They began ordering specialized, factory-built bulletproof vehicles like the Mahindra Rakshak.

Background & Context: >The IA already operated tens of thousands of standard JONGA vehicles, manufactured by the Jabalpur Ordnance and Guncarriage Assembly since 1969. >When the security situation in Kashmir worsened in the early 1990s, the army chose not to wait for newly built armoured vehicles. Instead, existing JONGAs were retrofitted with armour at regional workshops of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME).

Now those same voters have brought you down from 303 to 240, and instead of introspection, you choose to abuse them. Keep this up, and you’ll push yourselves into double digits.
