Day 1 of AEROLANCE is complete. We defined the sport, created the @UnrealEngine C++ foundation, and packaged our first macOS flight builds. It’s an early sandbox—not a finished match. Follow as we build an original aerial sport from the ground up. #GameDev #UnrealEngine

7/8 Playtesting already changed the game. We fixed the first keyboard movement issue and made climbing and diving follow the mouse-pointed flight direction. We also added an open-air stadium, scoreboard, suspended goals, and redesigned stepped seating.

6/8 The sandbox also includes foundations for the Match Ball, three Impact Balls, Beacon, possession, throwing, passing, tackling, scoring, match timing, AI riders, and early role behavior. They work as prototypes—not final gameplay systems.

5/8 We built a six-axis Jetstick flight prototype with mouse steering, acceleration, braking, boost, stamina, banking, recovery, collisions, telemetry, and keyboard/gamepad input. The focus now is responsiveness, momentum, camera behavior, speed, and accessibility.

4/8 We created the @UnrealEngine C++ project and configured macOS development, source control, Git LFS, automated validation, and packaging. By the end of Day 1, we had packaged multiple standalone macOS development builds.

3/8 Each end has one suspended hexagonal goal. A regular goal scores 1 point. Three autonomous Impact Balls disrupt play, while capturing the Beacon scores 10 points without ending the match. All of these rules are still being tested and tuned.

2/8 We defined the sport, player roles, match structure, and the Federated World Circuit: a global club system designed around leagues, cups, promotion, relegation, transfers, and academies. Regulation play is planned for 7v7. Our first playable milestone is 3v3.

Current build: an early Unreal Engine flight sandbox with six-axis Jetstick control, boost, stamina, collisions, scoring foundations, role-based AI, and a prototype stadium. It is not a complete match yet. We’ll share the progress—and the setbacks—as development continues.
