Alright, granted, this is a little ugly looking, but *does* demonstrate the functioning multiprocess separation for the imminently upcoming lichen-installer overhaul. Next up, "do the roar". Er, wipe the disk/install, that is.
Our rebootstrap is almost complete, with the merged llvm project packages now in, polly fixes landing, and the transition path from x86_64-serpent-linux -> x86_64-aerynos-linux in place. Likely first sync this evening or early morning. :)
Now we're cookin'. Toolchain updates coming over the weekend while we reseed the infra, update core toolchain packages, and swap the host triplet from x86_64-serpent-linux to x86_64-aerynos-linux
This will come through in a couple of days as an entirely boring, uneventful update
@aivarasas29 Right now *no* translation support is in place, and we're going to need help with it very soon. We're shaking up our organisational abilities a bit, and will include translation contributions as part of that. Looks like we'll be using a mixture of gettext + fluent right now.
Don't forget, if you like what we're doing, you can always help us get there a bit faster by supporting us on Ko-fi or Github sponsors:

Immediate goals include the acquisition of more Red Bull, and expanding our infra capacity.
New blog: "AerynOS: The OS As Infrastructure" - We're not just another Linux distro. We're redefining how operating systems work with atomic updates, stateless design, and innovative boot management. Read more: aerynos.com/blog/2025/03/2…#Linux#OpenSource
TLDR lichen filters disks, looking for a GPT one containing FAT32 part tagged ESP, and any tagged XBOOTLDR next to it, as the "Boot configuration" part. So you will need to manually partition ahead of time to use lichen. We have gparted on ISO =)
Some may be struggling to install the alphas, given we're still shipping the *old* installer (new is WIP).
An ESP must exist on a GPT disk for lichen to offer it. Better again, use an XBOOTLDR (`bls_boot`) FAT32 partition if ESP is tiny. We'll use it. Also, *net* installer.. :)
Hello, #AerynOS! So long, #SerpentOS.
Same project, just much, much better. Grab the latest 2025.03 ISO with GNOME 48, HDR support, Linux 6.13.8 and a bunch of updates and polishing.

@mxhectorvega I plan to fix github discussions to be our primary point for issues, but in the meantime you're welcome to email me too ! ikey@aerynos.com
@AerynOS_Project The Latin community takes advantage of older 2010-2015 hardware for Linux, and what better than an atomic distribution that allows me to focus on my daily tasks and not on configurations.
EU OS is a new—still in the idea stage—Fedora-based #Linux project designed to provide the EU public sector with secure, sovereign, and eco-friendly computing.
