This is another one of those phrases that scammers know people are intrigued by—just as they are with the word “free.” Again, use these types of phrases as you would use salt—sparingly. It is also good to avoid using it in the subject line, just to be safe.

It’s challenging to guarantee anything. “Results may vary” may seem cliché but is usually true. Scammers know this word feels like a security blanket it's used often. You can avoid disappointing your patients, and ending up in the spam folder by avoiding the word “guarantee.”

“Risk-free” is often used with “guarantee" by spammers. It conjures similar feelings as the word “guarantee,” which is why it’s 1 of the most popular spam words. Saying anything is “risk-free” is the same as offering a guarantee. If you can’t offer that, don't use it.

It’s not uncommon to forward an email or reply to an email. Spammers know this & that is why they use these words. “Fwd:” & “Re:” are used so often that most people automatically open an email when they see these words. Avoid using these words unless you’re truly replying.

The phrase "click-here" is a red flag. Tons of people have clicked where they shouldn’t have & ended up with a virus or worse. Use phrases that detail what will happen when they click such as read more, learn more, contact us, or schedule an appointment.

The word "free" can be enticing. However, this is a word that a lot of spammers use. However, switching out the word "free" with "complimentary" not only helps ensure you don't land in the spam folder it has a more elegant ring to it.

Un-personalized emails are 1 of the 1st indicators of spam. Most people are sure that they don't know the sender when an email says, "hi" or "dear friend." Personalization is 1 of the keys to a successful email. You want each person to feel you are writing specifically to them.
