I will be happy for every single player and Arteta today but the one player I will be most happy for is Viktor Gyokeres.
Wanted him 2 Summers ago (same with Eze) & was delighted when we went for him over Sesko last year, came here with a big reputation & every fanbase wanted him but when he signed, he became instantly shit at everything (out of jealousy) & they created narrative after narrative to try and break him.
He had no pre season & got thrown into the deep end, had to graft his way to fitness to shut down the external noise by those who wanted to see him fail (because him succeeding wins us the league and they knew it) but what made it worse is people in his own fanbase adding to the noise to make it even harder for him, shame on them.
Thankfully for us he’s mentally strong, kept his head down & worked his way through it, 21 goals in his debut season, many big goals in a team that barely created for him for most of it is a good return, could be better but it’s half of what he got in Portugal so it’s actually very good when you factor in the league tax.
He’s now won 3 league titles in a row, for context, the raved about player of the year never won 1 in Portugal or hasn’t sniffed 1 in England, he’s won 3.
Every single player deserves this but when he lifts that title, he’ll be the one I’m most happy about, next year we will see the best version of him too, second seasons are mostly better.
We signed a warrior who helped us win the league when people were upset because we didn’t sign someone who was scared to compete with Havertz or scared to take a pen v Grimsby, my fogging striker helped win us the league & next week, he may be that guy.

David Moyes gave us Mikel Arteta when he was at Everton. Then he went to West Ham, created a winner in Declan Rice then sent him to us, stopping Manchester City from signing him. Finally, he returned to Everton again and thwarted Manchester City’s attempt to beat us to the title.
