President Trump now faces a deeply unpleasant reality in Iran. Every available scenario risks a catastrophic outcome. This crisis is the direct result of a dangerous illusion. Powerful elements inside the US administration believed they could find a "Delcy Rodríguez" in Tehran, a pragmatic insider willing to change the system from within. The events of the last two months clearly show that this figure does not exist.
The Islamic Republic is not a conventional dictatorship. It is not like Saudi Arabia, which makes decisions based on self-interest and survival. It is a strictly ideological regime. Even the opportunists who join the government for personal gain are forced to act on that ideology. In this system, ideology is the only true source of power.
To resolve this crisis, the ideology itself must be defeated. That is only possible by fully supporting the Iranian people. There is no alternative. Any other strategy will lead to disaster.
The United States has already wasted vital time chasing false signals. The regime is simply running the clock, hoping the fall midterm elections will bring them relief. The administration cannot afford to miss this final window of opportunity. It must accept the truth: the Islamic Republic will never act like a normal government.
The path forward is strict but clear. The United States must put its full faith in the Iranian people. It must strike the head of the regime. Destroy the IRIB state media. Eliminate the Basij night posts and gathering points. Ask @PahlaviReza to call for a national uprising, and protect the people in the streets with air support.
Any other path will lead to a more catastrophic outcome. The United States must accept this reality before the final window closes forever.

Just because we are against terrorism, we don't condone Israel doing whatever they want.

🇮🇱🇪🇺🇵🇸 The Israeli Prime Minister's Office on the EU sanctioning violent settlers and settler-linked organizations in the occupied West Bank:
As Israel and the US are “doing Europe’s dirty work” by fighting for civilization against Jihadist lunatics in Iran and elsewhere, the European Union exposed its moral bankruptcy by drawing a false symmetry between Israeli citizens and Hamas terrorists.
European politicians are coerced by their radical constituencies but sanctioning Jews for living in Judea and Samaria is unacceptable. Judea is where Jews come from and Israel will always protect the rights of Jews to live in the heart of our ancestral homeland.
The European Union's attempts to sanction Israeli civilians is a further sign of weakness and will not succeed.

Islamist extremist Shakeel Afsar stages an ISIS-style execution scene featuring an actor wearing a Modi mask. These extremists are getting out of hand. How much more will the people of Britain tolerate this? @narendramodi must summon @UKinIndia and protest.

No. The Nazi Party (NSDAP) used "National Socialist" in its name for populist appeal to workers in the 1920s, but it rejected Marxist socialism, class struggle, and internationalism.
They purged their own left-leaning "socialist" faction (Strasserites) in 1934's Night of the Long Knives, banned socialist/communist parties, sent their members to camps, allied with big business, and ran a fascist mixed economy with private property under strict state control for nationalism and war prep—not worker ownership or equality.
It was fascism, not socialism.

In 458 BC, Rome was on the brink of collapse.
An invading army had trapped the Roman consul and his legion in a mountain pass. Panic spread through the city. The Senate did the only thing they could think of:
They sent messengers to find a 60-year-old farmer plowing his field.
His name was Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus. He had once been a senator, then lost his fortune paying his son's bail. Now he worked his own four-acre plot just to feed his family.
When the Senate's envoys arrived, they found him sweating behind a plow. They asked him to put on his toga so they could deliver an official message.
The message: Rome was making him dictator. Absolute power. Total command of the army. No checks. No oversight. No term limit.
He accepted.
Within 16 days, Cincinnatus had raised an army, marched out, surrounded the enemy, and forced their surrender. The republic was saved.
He had legal authority to rule for six months. He could have stayed. He could have expanded his power. He could have done what every other ruler in human history did when handed unlimited control.
Instead, he resigned on day 16.
He took off the toga, walked back to his farm, and finished plowing the field he'd left half-done.
Twenty years later, when Rome faced another crisis, they called him back. He was 80 years old. He took command, crushed the conspiracy, and resigned again, this time after just 21 days.
He died poor. On his farm.
2,200 years later, when George Washington was offered a kingship after winning the American Revolution, he refused and went home to Mount Vernon. The reason he was hailed as "the American Cincinnatus" is because Europeans literally could not believe a man who had won would willingly give up power.
King George III, on hearing Washington would resign rather than rule, said: "If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world."
The lesson isn't that Cincinnatus was humble.
The lesson is that for most of human history, the people most qualified to lead were the ones who didn't want to. And the moment a society starts rewarding those who chase power instead of those who flee from it is the moment the republic begins to die.
Cincinnati, Ohio is named after him.
Most people who live there have no idea why.
