NEWS: Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson says he wants Lucid to be 20% car company, 80% tech supplier.
"The vision I have for Lucid is: Just as there’s an Intel inside your laptop, there’s a Lucid inside a Honda or a Toyota."
"People think, 'Oh, why didn't you just be a supplier, Peter?' Because we need the cars as a shop window for our product," he said. Lucid also plans to expand the reach of that "shop window." It’s targeting production of 1 million cars per year by the early 2030s, up from around 9,000 in 2024.

Liebherr: 475 Electric Mining Machines Deal Sealed
Everything will be electrified except rockets but large mining vehicles will.
The 🇩🇪 German company Liebherr has signed the largest order in the company's 75-year history and will supply 475 electric mining machines to the 🇦🇺🦘 Australian mining company Fortescue.
It is a ‘historic deal’ and the largest in the company's 75-year history, Liebherr announced on signing the billion-dollar order. The contract between Liebherr and Fortescue is worth 2.8 billion dollars and comprises 475 Liebherr machines - including 360 autonomous battery-powered giant dump trucks. They are to be used in mines in Australia.
The dump truck is the result of ‘years of hard work and collaboration between Liebherr and Fortescue in the areas of autonomy and zero emissions’, Liebherr added. The dump truck is equipped with a battery electric drive system developed by Fortescue's technology division Fortescue Zero.
Fortescue also developed the fast-charging solution for the electric giant. The charging system can supply up to six megawatts of electricity, meaning that the giant dump truck, named T 264, can be charged in just 30 minutes, according to the press release.

So that’s the end of the ‘how long do the batteries last’ argument
CATL to give 10 year - 600,000 mile battery warranty to 85% of capacity
So not that they will only last 600,000 miles, they will have at least 85% of capacity at 600k miles
Life expectancy is at least 16 years or 900,000 miles

China is adding renewable energy on an unimaginable scale, building twice as much wind and solar power as rest of the planet combined (!)
What gets called "overcapacity" is actually China being the only power taking climate change really seriously.
