If ethnicity exists at all, which it obviously does, then English is an ethnicity. This is a simple statement of fact. It is possible to be culturally English or French or Japanese, etc, but ethnically be different. The first is “software”, the other is “hardware”. This should not be license to be cruel or unfair to people of a different ethnicity. I believe we should be fair to all ethnicities, but not pretend that one or another does not exist.
Rupert Lowe MP@RupertLowe10

If I moved to Japan, and lived in Japan for decades, speaking the language, integrating into society, contributing to the economy. Would I be ethnically Japanese? No. No I would not. I would never pretend to be. Nor would that apply to India, Thailand, Mexico, Denmark or anywhere else. So why is England different? Of course there is an English ethnicity. I am entirely bemused by how so many argue against that. It’s just a fact. Politicians who say otherwise are cowards. This is painfully obvious. Restore Britain’s position is clear. English ethnicity exists - it’s the only sodding data point that the Government collects on anything. Of course someone who is not of that ethnicity can be British, obviously. But it equally does not mean that the English ethnicity is imaginary. Those two things can be true at the same time. I got in trouble years ago for suggesting that the footballer Paul Pogba was French, but not ethnically French. It’s insanity. That is just a factual position. Common sense, clearly. Separately, Restore Britain has said from the very start - owning a British passport does not make you British. We have seen how lazily those documents have been frittered away. Holding that piece of paper does not automatically make you British, we are very clear on that. Is the Egyptian lunatic Alaa Abd El-Fattah British? He has a passport. Restore Britain says NO. No, he is not and he should be stripped of that paper and deported. Being British encompasses so much more than that, it means so much more than that. It is not simply a piece of paper. It is culture, shared beliefs, patriotism, language, a common understanding of what is right and wrong. That has nothing to do with ethnicity, obviously. But for even daring to suggest that English ethnicity exists I’ll be roundly attacked. It is just a fact. Every other country in the world manages to acknowledge ethnicities exist without descending into hysteria. England should be able to do the same.

This is fascinatingly transparent from a usually well-guarded grifter They want you to"naturalise" and "go through the proper channels*....until you do that and then they have no cards left to play except the blatantly racist ones
Matt Walsh@MattWalshBlog

Deporting illegal immigrants shouldn't even be a conversation. Of course we should deport them all. It's not even an interesting debate. We should be way past that and instead talking about how to systematically denaturalize and deport legal immigrants who don't belong here.

If you’re a proponent of this war, so be it. Make your case. But lecturing skeptics for not “trusting Trump” is the dumbest argument you could possibly make. It is perfectly reasonable for American to be skeptical of regime change wars in the Middle East. Trump himself was skeptical of them. The idea that we are obligated to just assume it’s a good move because Trump decided to do it is asinine, not to mention un-American.

I agree with Rupert Lowe one hundred per cent. His argument is not radical — it is simply the truth spoken without fear. And I see the same phenomenon play out in Germany every single day. I come from a family whose German lineage can be traced back to 1865 — generation after generation rooted in the same cultural, historical and linguistic identity. Yet I am constantly confronted with people who hold a German passport and insist that this alone makes them “German,” even when their heritage is visibly Turkish, Indian, Arab, Italian or anything else. Quite frankly, I am fed up with this linguistic trick. A passport is an administrative document. It is not ancestry. It grants you legal permission — it does not rewrite who you are. You may be a citizen of Germany or Britain, and that is perfectly respectable. But you are not ethnically German, English or Scottish simply because the government printed your name on a piece of paper. Every other country on earth understands this basic distinction. Only in Western Europe do people panic when the obvious is spoken aloud. And that is exactly the point Rupert Lowe and Restore Britain make. They are not extremists, nor anti-immigrant. They are stating a fundamental reality: English ethnicity exists. German ethnicity exists. They have historical continuity and ancestral roots. Having a British passport makes you a British citizen. It does not make you English, Welsh or Scottish — just as having a German passport does not make you ethnisch deutsch. I myself would happily take British citizenship one day — it would be a privilege. But I would never presume to call myself English. I am German, and I will always remain German. Living in the UK would make me a resident, perhaps a citizen — but not an Englishwoman. And that is completely fine. What is not fine is the intellectual dishonesty of claiming two mutually exclusive identities at the same time. You cannot fiercely celebrate your Indian, Ghanaian or Turkish heritage — and then demand to be recognised as ethnically English or German the moment it suits you politically. That is not inclusion. That is erasure. Rupert Lowe’s point is simple and legitimate: Be proud of your roots. Be grateful for your citizenship. Respect the nation you live in. But do not replace or overwrite the people whose ethnicity built that nation. Anyone pretending not to understand this does so deliberately.

Dear Leftists, I can't believe how many times this has to be explained to you. You CANNOT be racist towards Islam. Why? Because it's an ideology and NOT a race. Muslims are followers of this ideology and NOT a race. I know most of you are thick as two short planks these days but this is pretty basic stuff so I'll hope for some improvement from you on this matter in the near future. Sincerely, Someone who can understand basic concepts.

He has a great point. Example; Elon Musk is American but not ethnically American It's basic common sense. One is about heritage and roots, the other's about legal status and belonging to the nation. Both can be true at once without any drama. People acting like that's controversial are just twisting themselves in knots

@aboasel200020 @elonmusk Who "reduces" England to "Britain"?.... Cos it's definitely not the Welsh Scottish or Irish. In fact, we'll likely correct you. Truth is, English people call themselves British because to them there is no difference. Complaining about a self-imposed imperialist tactic

@elonmusk The real question isn’t whether English ethnicity exists. The question is why England as a constitutional nation is barely spoken of in modern politics. Scotland can speak of Scotland. Wales can speak of Wales. Why is England always reduced to “Britain”?

@RupertLowe10 Ok. Bad confusing rant but... What is English ethnicity then? You also don't have an English passport you have a British one so I assume this ethnicity is actually formed of 4 distinct cultures? It's clear what you DON'T like so, what is it that you DO like/stand for?
