@MJMCKAY4 They’re a great machine, especially if you don’t have rocks. High R&M costs, there is a fair amount of power moving through the system. They work well with @t3rratech, I can easily set batters and cut heights from the desk or the terracutta in-cab works fine too.

@PeteHoRsEMcCann So many options! The biggest variable is cost and quality needs. I use @mywildeye telemetry, with their sensors or higher spec sensors depending on need. From $3K up to $6k. If you’re in NSW hit up @porositythomo - great for advice on this stuff, been in the game for years.

Can anyone in twitter land recommend a weather station? Few minimum requirement - needs to have remote viewing (via app), in home display and cordless. (Am using a very basic Netatmo system now) #asktwitter thanks in advance.

500mm Rip strip in 2018 - still showing up clearly in wheat 🌾- wonder how long the benefit will last before sands re compact. Intersting plenty of non responsive sands also - so ground truthing essential before large scale 🌱 @jock_mcneil @Moodie_ag @bairdy_78 @mattelliott32

@AnnaVidot It’s definitely not about cyber security, just another brick in the don’t-trust-China wall the government is building.

PM: "I raise this not to raise the concerns of Australians, but to reassure Australians. ... We know it's going on, we're on it, but it's a day to day task." So this is... a general cybersecurity PSA? Not clear to me why we're seeing a grave announcement of this nature today.

💦We’re putting autonomous irrigation technology to the test!🤖 Our Senior Project Officer, Dave McLaren has been busy setting up a super smart centre pivot at our Dairy Research Facility in Elliott. The pivot reads a prescribed map with an aim to irrigate smarter.

@burgess_ag I used one from Industrial Evolution in the Hilux. It was able to hold the Trimble FMX with no trouble, and they’re made of 2” cast iron.

I’m struggling to put much faith in people who endorse coughing into your elbow, and also replacing a hand shake with.... an elbow bump. And then asking people to use their common sense. Can’t they join the dots?

@Corcoranspuds @360Monitoring water quality wasn’t up to it, and an adequate filtration system took a while to work out so we only saw a few weeks of use. When it was working there was no crop damage and no run off, but not running long enough to learn as much as we hoped.

Dragon-line irrigation pivot retrofit set up for spuds. Australia’s first, and if the expected infiltration and efficiency gains are realised it won’t be the last. I’ll be putting a few soil probes in to help assess it. Well done Simplot for looking into it. @360Monitoring

Interesting observation after today’s soil testing. The most moisture I saw at depth was under frosted Lentils. Lentils are shallow rooted anyway, but there was more noticeable moisture at depth under all frosted Lentils vs normal harvested ones. 🤔
