CSP EKENE NWOSU: WHEN A MURDEROUS AND ROGUE POLICE OFFICER DIES I have read about the death of CSP Ekene Nwosu, the former OC of the Anti-Robbery Squad in the Akwa Ibom State Police Command Headquarters. Since the news of his demise broke, a lot of people have been celebrating, with many recounting their ordeals and terrible experiences in the hands of Ekene. Those who are against the celebration of his death are entitled to their opinions. The Ekene Nwosu that I knew, and had occasions to confront, was a devil, a despicable human being, a murderous and callous policeman who went to the extremes to dehumanize his many victims. Ekene is a perfect example of a rogue police officer, he subjected innocent people in Akwa Ibom to the most barbaric forms of dehumanization. He had no respect for lawyers, he had no respect for human rights, and held the Judiciary in contempt. The Courts found him culpable for the violation of the rights of citizens in many cases, including the ones handled by our law firm in Uyo. The fact that such a despicable person was allowed to continue in service despite many the complaints against him speaks to the rot in the Police. Ekene had so much power in the State. Successive Commissioners of Police failed to checkmate him, partly because he was a mercenary for oppressive and corrupt politicians in Akwa Ibom State. I am reliably informed that Ekene celebrated the death of the immediate past CP who finally ensured that he was transferred to Ekiti State where he died yesterday . Politicians used him to target people. Ekene was a devil, and I hope that other rogues in uniform will realize that they will die one day. It is true that every mortal will taste death, but we should always reflect on what we will be remembered for. For Ekene, those who remember him for his many evil deeds are within their right.

It is funny how failed politicians are trying to re-define democracy. @PeterObi said democracy has collapsed. Does he even know the meaning of democracy. When people were fighting for democracy, Gregory was buying and selling. He doesn’t have a history of any democratic activism from his school days to date. His expertise lies in instigating hate speech and vitriol Talk Is cheap

PRESS RELEASE! My Unwavering Stance for Justice, and Women’s Rights As the Senator Representing the Federal Capital Territory, FCT in the 10th Senate, and the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women Affairs, I would like to state to all Nigerians that I am aware of the public dismay and I would like to address a few things officially. First, I would like to assure Nigerians that I will be at the forefront to champion the Sexual harassment case involving my colleague, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, when the investigation comes to the red chamber. I am aware of the narrative that has been going around, and to set the record straight, my actions were not to undermine her claims, but to buttress that I was not aware in the first place of any such happenings. Notwithstanding, I remain steadfast in the fight against all forms of violence against girls and women. As a sitting Senator, I will always defend the truth and fight to right all wrongs. Over the years, sexual harassment and assault have become commonplace in our homes and workplaces. Every Nigerian, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, or religion, should be committed to the struggle to end it as it affects all genders. Once an accusation of sexual harassment is formally tabled before the Senate, it would be incumbent on the body to note that this weighty issue must be investigated thoroughly by the appropriate mechanisms within the institution of the Senate. The office of the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women Affairs, which I chair, stands as a pillar of hope and a watershed for equality, equity, inclusivity, and opportunity. It offers Nigerian women recourse, refuge, and the right to dignity and social justice. It’s in this capacity that I am demanding an open, transparent and fair investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment. Justice, fairness and equity must be provided for everyone regardless of gender, position or social class. I affirm my commitment to protecting the rights of girls and women across Nigeria. I align with the global community in advocating for increased gender equity in political representation and across all sectors of our society. To this end, I am focused on advancing the 35% Gender Inclusion Bill and the establishment of special seats for women to ensure greater participation of women in governance. The Gender Equity Bill 2025, SB 743, which I am pushing has passed the first reading and is now awaiting the second reading. I remain resolute in my service to the Nigerian people, undeterred by falsehoods, and committed to fostering a democracy where justice, fairness, and equity prevails. I would like, therefore, to assure Nigerians, especially Nigerian women, my obedient political family and my FCT Constituents, that I remain focused on delivering good governance even amid daunting challenges, that a new Nigeria may prevail. Any disinformation trying to purport that I am sympathetic to sexual harassment of ANY kind, whether in the Senate or elsewhere, should be disregarded. “As a leader and Senator, I will never do anything to undermine your valuable trust”. Finally, I like to reaffirm my steadfast commitment to protecting the rights of girls and women across Nigeria. I remain resolute in my service to the Nigerian people and committed to fostering a democracy where justice, fairness, and equality are paramount. Signed, Senator Ireti Heebah Kingibe Senator Representing the Federal Capital Territory Chairperson, Senate Committee on Women Affairs.

His Excellency, Gov. Sim Fubara did not just go to the Assembly Quarters, he followed due process in approaching Amaewhule and co. But you know, to them, the interest of one man comes first before the interest of Rivers people. Rivers people can go and d!e while the interest of Wike is sustained. Very unfortunate.

They thought they could bury us, they didn't know we were seeds 😊😁 this week I made a post, asking people what they wanted, someone said starting a small business. I didn't know one top politician in Rivers State has been seeing my posts 😊 So he asked me to give 2 persons N200k, one male and one female. So I am here to give 100k each to 2 people who want to start a small scale business. comment with what business you can start with N100k, break it down briefly with expenses and add your account details at the end of the comment. The most realistic will win. RIVERS STATE MONEY FOR RIVERS STATE PEOPLE 💪😊 Goodluck 🥂😊 SIM Fubara is in charge 💪😊

No matter how much I wanted to stay away from this topic, it is difficult to ignore the way it has been framed. With all the student bodies and civil society organizations in this country, Why does it have to be the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) that is threatening these state governments with legal action on this issue? One of the biggest challenges we face as a nation is how quickly policy matters turn into religious battles. In this case, CAN has taken the lead in challenging state governments over a matter that student unions or education-focused advocacy groups should have engaged. Let’s assume CAN wins this legal battle. How would it be viewed if MURIC (Muslim Rights Concern) or any other Islamic organization decided to take legal action against states that close schools in December for the Christmas break? Instead of taking a sectarian approach, CAN should have allowed neutral stakeholders, such as student unions, education boards, and civil rights organizations, to engage these state governments constructively rather than turning it into a religious debate.
