There’s this football pitch we usually play at every Saturday here in Lagos. Just this past weekend, we were discussing how thvgs operate so openly in Lagos, harassing motorists without fear.
An older man, probably in his late 50s or early 60s, insisted it happens in the Southeast too. So I asked him, “Where exactly in the Southeast?”
He replied, “Aba.”
I then asked, “Which part of Aba?”
He started stammering before eventually saying, “Under bridge.”
I followed up with, “Under which bridge?”
At that point, he had no answer🤦🏻♂️. It was obvious he didn’t know what he was talking about.
So I told him, “I’m an Aba boy—born and bred.” Aba has two major bridges people commonly refer to: the Waterside Bridge and the Osisioma Bridge(flyover) that was built a few years ago.
After I clocked him he went quiet😆
