He must’ve talked ball with me for 10 full minutes. It meant so much to me that was that down to earth. I’ll never forget it!

Starting this rant off by saying 2 things: 1) I respect people who grind content 2) I am a believer in letting people do that they want I spent 2 years coaching college soccer. I played D2 college soccer, coached club for 10+ years, and high school for 3 years. Grinding tape / film is more difficult than you think. I knew great players and great coaches who were not great at breaking down tape. It’s a skill and you need to know the game well I personally am a firm believer that unless you played a sport at a high level or coached a sport at a high level, you aren’t in a position to “grind tape” to the extent some people claim to. Sure you can get better at anything through reps. But for people to claim that to the level you are a near scout is ridiculous People can grind tape to get a feel for prospects all they want. I just really hate the notion that everyone and their mother is a film expert. Especially the average joe who doesn’t have the resume I say this as someone who broke tape down, for a different sport, as a career at one point. I promise for at least that sport, there’s no way in hell the masses would be able to break down film the way others claim to for football
