Huge claim from former FSB director Nikolai Patrushev, who says that Osama bin Laden was a US “agent” and was later eliminated only when he began compromising American intelligence services. He says Russia once helped the CIA locate Osama bin Laden and that the US then refused to strike him. Patrushev adds that the presidents of Russia and the US [presumably Putin and George W Bush, given he headed the FSBfrom 1999-2008] had agreed an operation to “eliminate” bin Laden, with roles assigned to both services: “On one side, the CIA, on the other, the FSB.” According to him, the Americans asked Russia to place a beacon at bin Laden’s location because “they were sure we couldn’t carry it out, [but] we carried it out,” Patrushev said. “We completed the assignment,” Patrushev claims. “We installed the beacon they gave us and said, please, you can verify it.” He says Moscow told the US bin Laden would remain at that location for three months. “They didn't dare. They didn't strike.” Patrushev says he later confronted CIA director George Tenet: “You asked us. We didn't ask you. And you did nothing.” Then comes the real kicker from Patrushev: “We know that he was their agent, they used him for as long as it suited them. Then, when he became a liability, they eliminated him, as we all saw on screen.”

Everyone calls Fredo the weak one. Watch that scene again.
His father gets shot in the street and Fredo freezes. He fumbles his gun, drops it, ends up on the curb crying like a kid. For most people that settles it: he's useless, he's not built for this life.
But that's the point. Fredo was never meant to be strong, or smart. He wasn't Sonny. He wasn't Michael. He was an ordinary man who happened to have the Godfather for a father. So when the shooting starts, he does what most of us would do. He panics. He breaks.
The same softness that made him a bad gangster was the one thing the family had no room for. Michael runs the business better than any of them ever could. But the day he loses Fredo, he loses the last soft thing left in him.
A family can't run on business alone. Fredo was the proof. Nobody saw it until he was gone

Do you know when my view of Messi as a person changed?
When I realized he was aware of the racist chants from Argentinian fans and never used his influence to ask them to stop. He's the kind of person who should have that moral authority. The only Argentinian who had the power to do it, but he didn't. I remember a match in Brazil where racist chants sparked a public brawl in the stands. I remember Messi publicly condemning police violence against Argentinians... but he remained silent about the racist chants. He played the victim.
Messi is a coward.
