My god, trans person here! I'm so sick and tired of this. Having a biological women's tournament isn't transphobic; they want biological women only for this, which keeps it 100% fair. We don't know the differences yet fully with us trans people. Cause at the end of the day, trans women are still biologically male, that's a fact.

The announcement of a girls-only Valorant 5v5 tournament has caused some backlash. The event offers a 5000 VP prize per team and is only open to biological female players. People are upset about two things: First, the poster was made with AI. Many say the organizers should have hired real artists from the big Valorant art community instead. Second, the rule that keeps out trans women. This has led to claims of transphobia and calls to boycott the event.

the AI art is messy and the branding feels forced but they’re still banning trans women… it’s not hard to be genuinely inclusive: trans women are women too!!!!!

@imsoggy_real @nocturinaVAL @BigLawlbowski i think you don't know what 'socialised' means. being socialised as a man does not mean you are a man, it means that everyone around you treated you like you were/are one. the vast majority of trans women are socialised as men, at least until they are out as trans women.

@Aixion__ @nocturinaVAL @BigLawlbowski But trans women just arent socialised as men, especially in adolescense which is when the socialisation would really play an impact here. Trans women have different experiences than both cis men and women and its wrong to equate them.

@imsoggy_real @nocturinaVAL @BigLawlbowski i don't think they should compete as men! what you just said is just not true at all though. the segregation of sports is for representation because men seem to out-perform or at least perform differently then men do in a lot of competitive spaces.

@Aixion__ @nocturinaVAL @BigLawlbowski The existence of segregating by gender does not mean that there is an advantage at play. Its for representation (and often men being gross too). Trans women shouldnt have to compete as men and theres no justifiable reason for it!!

@Aixion__ @BigLawlbowski i mean yea there are other factors and in the case of Game Changers, the main goal of the scene is to put women and marginalised genders in the spotlight, i know this tournament doesn't align with that but if you're gonna say trans women have an advantage i'd like to see proof yk

@Aixion__ @BigLawlbowski i see where u're coming from but overrepresentation doesn't necessarily mean advantage, especially on a scene like Game Changers where the amount of players is very small compared to the regular VRC scene, its not really relevant thats why im asking for studies rather than that

@nocturinaVAL @BigLawlbowski i think the fact that transwomen seem to over-represent in esports spaces implies that there is some advantage to being AMAB when it comes to pro play. Unless trans women are making up 40-50% of all women gamers then teams seem to be over-represented trans-wise.

@Aixion__ @BigLawlbowski sports are one thing, but here we're talking about a valorant tournament and to my knowledge there hasn't been any convincing studies on the advantages of trans women on biological women in esports, if u can prove me wrong im all ears
