आमतौर पर भारत में पारंपरिक काली मिर्च की खेती दक्षिण के राज्यों में पेड़ों के सहारे की जाती है, जहाँ इसका उत्पादन 500 से 700 किलो तक होता है। जलगांव के जैन इरिगेशन फार्म में पोल के सहारे पॉलीहाउस में आधुनिक तकनीक से काली मिर्च की उसी वैरायटी की टिशू कल्चर आधारित खेती कर 3 टन यानी 30 क्विंटल तक उत्पादन लिया जा रहा है। यह प्रयोग उत्पादन बढ़ाने, किसानों की आय में वृद्धि करने और देश को मसालों में आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण कदम साबित होगा।
