What is it with red button pushers rewriting the question, like you're presenting an entirely different scenario

@notsoErudite @IamSean90 I think if it's the entire world, the blue is likely to succeed and you should pick blue.
But if it's an individualist community or culture, or you knew most of the people were Ayn Rand lovers then blue is not succeeding at all. Red is better here.

Everyone should press red button it's completely risk free & betting on 1/2 + 1 to gamble their own lives on blue is stupid
MrBeast@MrBeast
Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

@bedriddenmaiden Even thousands of years ago. Sappho wrote great poems that resonate with our emotions today.

@capydary Always type "lmao" when you boop someone off the map

@No5mallf3at Well I don't agree with all of it, but I thought it was thoughtful pushback.
English

@Benthamsbulldog My thing is, why do continentals become so influential and popular, moreso than analytics, if they are so unreadable and nebulous?
Anyone can write in their nebulous and confusing way. That won't make you influential.
English

I don’t understand—and I mean this literally, I *do not understand* and I want to know others’ views—the strict norms against doxxing. I get posting someone’s address or something, that’s just inciting harassment. But if a person is a major-ish figure and we’re just talking about sharing their name, what’s the problem? I guess it just seems like wanting to be influential *and* anonymous is a big ask, and people knowing who you are isn’t a big deal, so I don’t see why it’s in-principle-wrong to reveal such a figure’s identity if such is of public interest.
I think people will get mad at me if I don’t reiterate this enough, so just to stress, I’m not trying to coyly defend anything anyone is doing. I think it is reasonably likely someone will reply with a good argument and I’ll just be like “Okay, makes sense.”

whenever i see stuff like this all i can think about is how existing as a human being who is perceived by other humans is an utterly miserable experience

tbh i don’t know if i like it or not

@dev_lemons These have a very Mollymoon-esque vibe to them and i love them

I get that the joke is making fun of robots and their inability to perceive things as a human would, but scenarios like this have genuinely happened to me many times throughout my life and people have gotten angry at me because they thought that I was being a smart aleck.
As a kid, it confused the crap out of me and all I could think was, "Why am I in trouble? I did what you told me to do!"
This is a big reason I try not to yell "common sense" as a way to dismiss actions. There are well-meaning people out there who follow logic, just not everyone else's logic. Hanlon's razor and all that.

@PAHoyeck Maybe I should have specified mother tongue, but regardless I agree with you still.
I'm saying we do a weird tendency of naming identities that can lead to absurd conclusions. Arabic was just an example of this I think.
English

@AjskrapAlex I really don't think this is true. Persians who speak Arabic aren't Arabs! I actually debated using this as one of my examples.

@bedriddenmaiden Imo, that's why I didn't care for the movie. It felt too obvious of a movie ending...
