I don’t take twitter seriously. It is symbolic of everything great that failed due to flaws in human nature.

Indian music is getting very popular in Italy. During the community welcome in Rome last evening, five Italian artistes performed the Hamsadhwani. Compliments to Mr. Valerio Bruni (Santoor), Mr. Leo Vertunni (Sitar), Mr. Simone Mattiello (Bansuri), Mr. Francesco Gherardi (Tabla) and Mr. Nicolo Mellochi (Bansuri).

L’immigration négative est possible. Non seulement nous devons cesser d’accueillir le monde entier, mais nous devons aussi renvoyer les criminels, les délinquants : les étrangers qui n'ont plus rien à faire chez nous.

There is a basic economic error here. In 2016, 1 USD ~20 INR PPP. In 2026, 1 USD ~20 INR PPP. This is as per World Bank and IMF data, plus extrapolation for 2026 based on inflation data we so far have. In other words, effective inflation difference between the two countries has been negligible (in part as India's hinterland has opened up thanks to better connectivity.) Yet people are saying 4-5% or so rupee depreciation will continue against the dollar. How? Even inflation target difference is only 2% though in recent years India has undershot it and America overshot. Basic theory says you depreciate by inflation differentials. This is without considering the extreme RER reading of India compared to US, Balassa/productivity/Indian growth effect, PPP/MER or US REER cycles - technical things I do not expect to be commonly understood. If the PPP rate remains in the low 20s for the rupee, then the market rate at 110 etc in 2-3 years would be 5x+ on the PPP/MER ratio. An absolutely absurd number for an economy as large as India for anyone who has followed the relevant literature. Yes, the recency bias is squarely behind this prediction no doubt. But I continue to maintain we are not hitting 100 and more importantly we are not staying above 100.

Gap between Indian and US yields is at a historic low. Why would foreign debt investors invest in India for a mere 2.5%? INR on avg depreciates 4-5% a yr. It is a losing trade. This in turn strengthens the argument for rate hikes in India - to make the rupee attractive. Agree?

Good points by Jeff Bezos. Think in terms of the future, work for the future, make a few big decisions. Don't waste time taking too many decisions and getting caught up in small things. This is how successful people and top level executives work.

Were you in the middle of a desert dying from thirst? Or do you have the impulse control of a toddler? One expects a certain level of professionalism from a journalist, or heck, even an adult. You wanted access to the PM of the world's largest democracy with this shitty attitude?

I’ve tried it in Australia. It’s not good. Theres a reason cultures across the world primarily eat only 6 animals: fish, poultry, goat, sheep, pigs & cows. Ever considered why? Also if they are at alternate protein sources, they adopt these 6 when they come in contact?

@Iyervval Speaking of crocodiles.... What are your thoughts on crocodile meat? It was consumed during the Indus valley civilization. Americans eat gator, here are some leenks to this. youtu.be/SEeOegmrlXw?si… facebook.com/share/v/1AkheT…

@AngelicaOung Indians are tired of the CCP programmed Chinese supremacists patronizing India all the time. China was no better than India now just 15 years ago. Don't carry too much hubris after being influenced by India for 2000 years. Law of cycles & averages will soon take over. Om shanti.

India crossed the credibility threshold today. ASML doesn't sign training and R&D commitments lightly. They have one of the most disciplined customer selection processes in semicap. Putting institutional weight behind Dholera means they see India as a 20-year fab geography. Honestly, they probably no longer have a choice. The equipment was always available for purchase - unless you're China. But getting global tier-1s to commit infrastructure, talent and supply chain depth to a country with zero operational 300mm fab history is what is real work. That door is now open and probably what's most exciting from here onwards. Applied Materials, TEL, Lam, KLA, JSR, TOK and Shin-Etsu will read this announcement the same way. The supplier ecosystem moves once the litho leader commits. Expecting a wave of similar MoUs over the next 12-18 months. Infact, LAM has already been building a supply chain for the last few months. A few listed companies have already talked about it. For investors - Building depth on SEMI ecosystem in India will probably earn a lot of fruits!!

Kolkata, West Bengal: Imam of Nakhoda Masjid Maulana Mohammad Shafiq Qasmi says, "The notification regarding cow slaughter has been issued by the government. This is a law from 1950, which was enacted at that time. It is not a new law made by any new government; it is being implemented now under the same law. Under this law, cow slaughter is very difficult. Therefore, we would appeal to all Muslims to stop cow slaughter and also to stop consuming beef permanently"
