The grave monument of James Stephen in St Mary’s old churchyard, Stoke Newington. A leading abolitionist lawyer, Stephen, who lived in the Summerhouse (now Summerhouse Rd) off Stoke Newington Church St, drafted the Slave Trade Act 1807, which made it illegal to engage in the slave trade throughout the British colonies.

@AkdoganHistory @PTIEducation Hi Esin, really sorry for the very late reply... I've been locked out of this account for a while. I have a Google account with Ottoman resources on there - if you let me know an email address, I can give you access no problem.

Pleased to receive this in the post today from @PTIEducation. I'm happy to discuss the Ottoman scheme of work with anyone who might be interested. It's a fascinating topic, and great to teach.

@tommole Hey Tom, these resources are a game changer, especially for a trainee like myself - I wondered if you had ppts to accompany them? Or if you don’t, how do you teach it? Do you do whole class reading straight from the textbook?

@MissFolorunsho Hey Emily-Grace, did you put together a SOW on the Ottomans? Would love to see any potential resources! :)
English

@MrGeorgeTowers @MissFolorunsho Hi George, I am a trainee and currently trying to put together a SOW on the Ottomans and am struggling to find resources online- this EQ sounds amazing. I would love to see your lessons on this if they are still available?
English

@MissFolorunsho We are re-working the enquiry at the moment. To this point it's been "How did a nomadic tribe become the strongest power in the Middle East?" The enquiry before is "What kind of world did the Plantagenets create?" (which we are also tweaking at the moment)..

@GreenwellMrs Twitter won't let me DM you for some strange reason- I'll give it to you on here if that's OK: esin.akdogan@outlook.com Thanks again :)

@AkdoganHistory Send me a DM with your email and I'll send them over 😀
