I wake up at 5 am and I run every morning, and it isn't because I'm a marathon runner or or because I'm some kind of triathlete. It's because I fn hate running and I hat getting up early even more. So I'm starting the day by building a non negotiable standard for my self, which I've come to realize is the only way we can ever grow and improve.
When people say " no one is coming to save you" they are not talking about, no one's gonna come help you reach your goals, they are talking about how no one's gonna come save you from your self. Because without standards, we always lose direction and we always fall back to our lowest automatic systems, binging procrastination, clinging to Comfort and the worst one of all - lacking the desire to change because it's just to difficult and discomfort is so distasteful these days.
So when I'm out here in the mornings, it's not about milage, it's not about pace - it's about creating a rhythm and creating a standard and a certainty in a world of uncertainty for how I wanna see my self throughout the day.
The real battle is with your self.
