I just want to thank everyone. I’m overwhelmed by the response. I’m not going to name the company because: A) I’m getting a severance package B) I wish them no ill will. From my understanding about 80 people were let go today. Please lift them all up in prayer. I will admit I got a little teary eyed after I got off the call where they informed us. But then I remembered that God has a plan. I have nothing to fear. And I was blessed for those 18 years. I am in a very good place. We have lived within our means. Tighter? Sure. But God provides. I have an amazing wife who fully supports me. She pointed out that I haven’t been particularly happy there in years. This may just be God’s way of forcing me to move. I may even consider a career change. Always wanted to get into CNC machining. It’ll be a ginormous pay cut but money doesn’t buy happiness. I’ll likely search for an appropriate IT job first and, if that doesn’t pan out, pivot to something that I think will just be fun. I truly appreciate the prayers. They matter and may be part of why I’m so at peace with it. Thank you so much to everyone for thinking of me.

Laid off today after 18 years. Blessed to be at a company for that long. Not sure what the future holds but God is good and He’ll provide. Still a gut punch though.
