You see, northerners support Igbo presidency more than even the Igbos. If the Igbo presidency doesn't come through Atiku, it will come through APC. As for Atiku, he would pick Peter Obi, but that route is close. So it's for them to wait till 2031 to become VP and 2039 to become president. Hope Uzodinma is the route.

PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ADC RELEASES UPDATED PRIMARY ELECTION SCHEDULE AND REVISED NOMINATION FEES — Announces New Dates and Adjusted Fees Following Stakeholder Consultations The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released an updated schedule of activities for its 2026 primary elections, alongside revised costs for nomination forms, following extensive consultations with party leaders, aspirants, and stakeholders across the country. Under the updated timetable, the purchase and submission of completed forms will run from May 6 to May 13, 2026, with May 13 set as the final deadline for submission. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 14 and May 15, 2026, with the publication of screening results on May 17, 2026. Appeals will be heard between May 18 and May 19, 2026, while the final list of cleared aspirants will be published on May 20, 2026. Primary elections for State Houses of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Senate will be held on May 21, 2026, followed by governorship primaries on May 22, 2026. The presidential primary election is scheduled for May 23, 2026. This will be followed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on May 25, 2026, and the Special National Convention on May 26, 2026. Additionally, following the review, the cost of nomination forms has been set at N90,000,000 for the presidential ticket, N30,000,000 for governorship, N10,000,000 for Senate, N5,000,000 for the House of Representatives, and N2,000,000 for State Houses of Assembly. The party retains its concessionary framework, providing a 50 percent discount for youth aspirants between the ages of 18 and 35, and a 25 percent discount for women and persons living with disabilities. These adjustments reflect the outcome of broad-based consultations aimed at strengthening internal democracy, improving access, and ensuring that the ADC continues to provide a credible and inclusive platform for political participation. All aspirants and stakeholders are advised to take note of the updated schedule and revised fees, and to comply fully with all guidelines as published. The ADC remains committed to organising effectively and presenting credible candidates to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections. Signed, MALLAM BOLAJI ABDULLAHI NATIONAL PUBLICITY SECRETARY African Democratic Congress (ADC)

We worked with him in 2019, we told you he’s not to be trusted, he will not commit. AA was sponsoring his VP campaign in his own state. Keneth Okonkwo, Morris Monye, and Datti worked with him in 2023, they’re saying the same thing. Only a fool will read these things and still follow the Agulu content creator! Peter Obi does not represent the Igbos, we don’t double speak.

Peter Obi is probably the first 3rd Class student (semi-illiterate) in Nigeria to have a PhD holder as his VP, even though he’s still just an aspirant.

What kind of contradiction is this from Datti. One moment, you recommend Kwankwaso and El-Rufai to Peter Obi. The next, you turn around to tell us Kwankwaso is more experienced and educated than Obi, as if that suddenly disqualifies the very alliance you pushed. Then you stretch it further with claims about Kano’s size relative to the South East. which narrative should people believe? Which doesn’t make sense when you compare them by population density. The inconsistency is hard to ignore. You say a leader must be willing to fight and stand firm, yet you exited in a manner similar to the very person you now criticize. That disconnect between words and actions raises serious questions about credibility. You also admit you advised Obi to work with Kwankwaso. Fine. But when that advice begins to take shape, you pivot quickly setting up a new narrative that paints Kwankwaso as unsuitable because of age and status. That’s not guidance; that’s shifting goalposts. Leadership demands clarity and consistency. You can’t position yourself as a strategist while constantly revising your stance to fit the moment. People are paying attention, and these contradictions are not going unnoticed. At the end of the day, Nigerians deserve honesty, not “cunny” contradictions dressed up as analysis.

“It is very unlikely that the north will rally around an Obi–Kwankwaso ticket, and this is my personal opinion. Obi and Kwankwaso going together now is my idea. Will it work? I think it’s a big question.” — Datti Baba-Ahmed

Rochas Okorosa wanted to delay the destiny of Gov. Hope Uzodinma by bringing in his son-in-law instead of supporting Hope. Today, I Hope you understand Uzodinma. Rochas has hopelessly lost his presidential bid and has gone extinct in the face of politics. It's the same in Rivers State; Linda feels he owns Rivers State and wants to turn it into a HyperCity investment. Support Governor Siminialayi for a second term in office to save the state treasurer. I Hope you understand Uzodinma.

I want to tell you the bitter truth from the long post that Peter Obi made yesterday and the reason why he is leaving ADC. The truth is that Obi is a coward, a man who does not face challenges head-on. The problem in ADC is too small compared to the problems of the nation he wants to lead. This is a simple testament that he would abandon his responsibilities and then blame the entire country for it. He is a man who was overhyped and, unfortunately for him, is not meeting expectations. Only those with low understanding, those who take a long time to process reality, will keep holding on to what they were told, regardless of how events have changed. Only such people still believe in him. Those who are more discerning have seen him for who he is and have left the sinking ship.

Last week, @PeterObi was at an “opposition summit” in Ibadan. We said it clearly then these unprincipled drifters and their structure of criminality have nothing to offer besides empty words. But a majority of his brainwashed supporters couldn’t handle the truth. Now @Peterobi the captain of the gravy train has moved yet again, and those who were misled will once more follow the most directionless political opportunist to ever exist in this clime. #AACOurParty

We told you so. The political nomad is on the move again. Ignore all those puerile reasons he gave in these illogical musings, a self-serving letter to his mob. Peter Obi is a politician made of jelly, an opportunistic fellow. He can't fight Atiku or Amaechi for the ticket of ADC. He pursues the easy road, that will only lead him to doom, like in 2023. He always blames the government without doing a soul-searching of himself. Welcome, Peter to the 2027 race.
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
