@theskindoctor13 The utmost concern is when the protector becomes the predator. This incident just blackens the whole governance of the country. Exposes the ethics of law and order. This is a dangerous trend and if Govt is careful, they should dismiss the officers and their boss for life.

Sohan, a Class 12 student, was travelling by bus to visit relatives when it was abruptly stopped near Malhargarh (MP). A few men, later identified as cops, boarded the bus and dragged him off in full public view. There was no explanation, no warrant, and no prior FIR. He was picked up merely on suspicion of carrying drugs, despite being arrested completely empty-handed. When the police realised no drugs had been recovered, they chose not to let their “seamless operation” go to waste. They planted 2.7 kg of opium, said to be seized in another case, on Sohan, registered an FIR showing recovery from him, and told the media they had busted a major narcotics syndicate. He was then produced in court and sent to jail. What they failed to anticipate was that the bus had CCTV, which clearly showed Sohan being taken away empty-handed, pointing to planted evidence. When the video went viral, the police initially denied that the men were cops, only worsening their position. The case reached the High Court, which summoned the SP. The SP admitted that Malhargarh police acted illegally and outside the law, apologised, and ordered a departmental inquiry against the officers involved. Sohan was released after two months of illegal detention. Ironically, Malhargarh police station had been awarded as one of the best in the country by the Home Minister. If this is how the “best” station works, one can only imagine the rest. It is frightening how easily the police can ruin a life in this country. Without CCTV, Sohan’s life would have been destroyed forever.

I'm with you on 80%. I'm a massive advocate for Quad and a greater USA-India partnership. It will shape the globe on many fronts. Europe will also play its part in that relationship. I can't speak for billionaires, but why do common folks opt out of India. 1) Toxic work culture 2) Unaffordable education for kids 3) gaining properties in other countries is cheaper and easier. 4) Women's safety and freedom 5) (all my years, this reason is the number 1 reason I've heard from Indians; but I'm listing it at 5, coz that doesn't apply to me.) Distant relatives n in-laws. Peaceful life, no stress. 6) Passports of other countries give easier mobility on the globe since Indians have now become travelers after the onset of Facebook. 7) Childcare, all sorts of world-class therapies, and treatments are free for children. 8) No taboo for special kids. (Few parents have moved to other countries, because there are friendly and sensitive schools n teachers to special kids. Men want to get away from their toxic parents and relatives, and so do their wives. It was shocking to me, but this reason has been a major one for almost 90% of the ppl I spoke to. Out of the 110 students evacuated from Iran today, 90 were from J&K. Most of them were Muslims and were there for religious studies. -Modi govt didn't do any discrimination. -Sent a team to evacuate them. -Our pilots flew planes in the middle of the war, especially when the sky was full of missiles, drones, etc. -Brought them back safely. And then? They're abusing the same govt/officials for a few hours' delay. Just unbelievable!
