Al Davis, in his own words, on the NFL Draft:

When most NFL teams worked together to scout players, Al Davis refused to join. Instead, only using Raiders personnel’s player grading to make decisions. Not relying on others. “We refused to be part of that” 🎥 NFL Films “Al Davis’ Eye for NFL Draft Talent”

Al Davis’ older brother, Jerry had one major responsibility on draft weekend: Write the name on the card. Having been around professional football since Al worked for the San Diego Chargers in 1960, Jerry was never far away. No draft pick became a Raider without Jerry Davis.
