This is most likely what the Trojans looked like, according to the genetics of the Bronze Age west Anatolian world they came from. The Bronze Age west Anatolians were genetically most similar to modern Greek islanders, such as Cypriots, Dodecanesians, Kos and Rhodes, and the rest of the Aegean Greeks. The Trojan War, if based on a real Late Bronze Age conflict, most likely happened around c. 1200–1180 BC, during the destruction of Troy VIIa, the Late Bronze Age settlement layer usually linked with Homeric Troy. The Trojans lived on the Aegean side of western Anatolia, and their language was most likely Luwian-related, part of the Anatolian branch of Indo-European. Troy is usually identified with Wilusa in Hittite records and sat inside the Luwian-speaking world of western Anatolia. The Trojans were also connected to the Greek world, and even one historical king of Wilusa was named Alaksandu, which is the Greek name Alexandros, the same name Homer gives the Trojan prince Paris, and Mycenaean goods and dealings show up at Troy throughout this period. Troy itself has not been sampled for DNA yet, so this is the profile of the region it belonged to rather than the city directly. And this is not just one random sample, because we have multiple DNA samples from western Anatolia from before the Trojan War, from the Bronze Age itself, and from after it in Iron Age Caria, and across all of those periods the genetic profile stays similar, since the same Greek islanders keep turning out to be the closest living populations. Also, the Bronze age west Anatolians come out close to the Mycenaean Greeks. This is a result of Bronze Age Greece and western Anatolia being two ends of the same Aegean-Anatolian world rather than separate places. Both carried a large Bronze Age Anatolian ancestry layer, though the Mycenaeans leaned a bit more Balkan and steppe while the western Anatolians leaned more toward the older pre-Indo-European Anatolian side. The Mycenaeans carried around 50% Bronze Age Anatolian ancestry on average, peaking at around 64% in Tiryns, Argolis. Argolis was the heartland of the whole Mycenaean world, and this is where Mycenae itself stood, the citadel the entire civilization is named after and the seat of Agamemnon in the Trojan War, along with the great fortress of Tiryns. So genetically the Mycenaeans were partly Trojan-like, and that same Bronze age Anatolian layer probably helps explain the Luwian-like Anatolian linguistic substrate in Greek and the Anatolian/Luwian-like pre-Greek place names that survive across Greece. The first three charts show the G25 genetic distance, which show how close each modern population is to these Bronze Age western Anatolian samples, and I dropped the Mycenaean samples into the same comparison so you can see they land close to this western Anatolian profile as well. The fourth chart shows qpAdm models, which break the Mycenaeans down into their recent ancestry sources, along with two more G25 distance charts for the populations they descend from.

The only people praising the Jacobins today are communists, not Liberals. Which is telling. In any historical revolution, you people always identify with the monsters. And in today's uprisings from Iran or Syria, you identify with the oppressor, from Assad to the IRGC.
