t 30 I trained to look a certain way. At 60 I track to function a certain way. The shift isn't just in the numbers. It's in what I think the body is actually for.

Triglycerides. HbA1c. Inflammation markers. These are the numbers that reflect what's actually happening inside. They don't lie and they don't respond to wishful thinking. They respond to what you consistently do. That's what makes them worth tracking.

What I actually track now at 60. And why it matters more than anything I tracked at 30. 🧵

At 60 I’m not chasing the body I had at 30. I’m building the healthiest version of the one I have now. Different goal. Better motivation.

Things I wish I understood at 35. Sleep is not optional. Muscle mass is medicine. Stress kills as surely as bad food. And none of it matters long without something bigger to live for.

Got my bloodwork back. Fasting insulin, glucose, triglycerides — all moving in the right direction. No magic. Just consistency, real food, and paying attention. The body responds when you respect it.

Fasting, lifting, walking. Faith. Sleep. Real food. I'm not doing anything exotic. I'm just finally doing it all at the same time. Feels different.

Your fasting insulin number matters more than your weight. Most doctors don't test it. Ask for it. It tells you how hard your body is working just to stay stable.

5/ Both require surrendering control. You do the work. You don't control the outcome. That used to bother me. Getting more comfortable with it.

4/ Other people notice before you do. Happened with my health. Happening with my faith. You're often the last to see your own change.

Nobody tells you that getting older can actually get interesting. You stop caring about the wrong things. You get more intentional. The work starts meaning something different.

Romans 12:1 — offer your body as a living sacrifice. I used to read past that. Now I sit with it. What does that actually look like on a Tuesday morning when you don't feel like it.
