They have reported that customers should still be able to dial 911, but you will not be able to text 911 on phone or WiFi. Alachua County does not have any additional information on cause, duration, or any other information related to this outage.

Alachua County Emergency Management has met with our Combined Communications Center (911 dispatch) and they have informed us that the AT&T outage is affecting large areas of Alachua County.

Another cold one tonight 🥶

A freeze warning is in effect for @AlachuaCounty starting late Tue night and going into Wed morning. We are expected to see below freezing temps for several hours. Take the time to protect people, pets, pipes, and plants and use extra caution when using portable heaters.

Weather like this is typical during the summer months, but these severe weather events tend to catch people off guard during the winter months, which can lead to problems.

Another round of severe weather is expected to impact Alachua County on Friday. Although not anticipated to be as intense as the weather we had on Tuesday, severe storms will likely impact our area beginning Friday afternoon and into the evening.
