HARDWORK Joan Miro says you don't gain even a centimetre of freedom from art that's governed by cold formulas. You only get your freedom by sweating for it, by an inner struggle. Making headway in life isn’t by some form of sweet talk or walk in the park. It is about fighting through, struggling, staying awake, opening one’s eyes, soiling the hands, and longing deeply for what one wants. Even the bible says, seeth a man diligent in his work, he shall stand before kings, and not mean men. Currently, the world has become faster compared to about 10 or 20 years ago. Now we say the world is running. It is about becoming fast and sharp to get to the limited opportunities before some others do. It’s quite unfortunate though, but then, we have to work so hard at whatever cost if we are interested in becoming an elite. Stephen Leacock says I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it. The more work we do, the more our chances and luck.. Good morning and enjoy your weekend motivate.com.ng/2022/07/what-c…

@D_unveiledbride @Faladynamite Yes its possible. There are many examples around Its okay to deny the examples or probably just say they are bad christians (that may be easier) but what you shouldn’t argue is that good christians automatically make good spouses, no they don’t.

People who attend churches with specialized pastors (eg Marriage counsellors) how do they grow? I mean asides "how to know the matured man", "7 Things to know before YES I DO" and "Breaking free from childhood trauma", what else? What about righteousness, judgement et al?

@Faladynamite @D_unveiledbride No wonder we have good christians that are not good professionals. Doesn’t the bible teach us how to be the best in those areas too? Can you tell me the story of Ayo Babalola’s marriage again (with all due respect to the great man of God) or does he count as a nominal christian?

@AlagbeBlessing_ @D_unveiledbride Naah Blessing, "we won't have many christians and pastors" You can't base your premise on nominal christians and pastors but on the scriptures. What does it take to be a good spouse? Did the scripture teach all those things? If yes, then a Christian makes a good spouse.

@D_unveiledbride @Faladynamite In as much as this sounds cool to the ears, you could be a good christian and make the worse spouse. If being a good christian is all it takes, we won’t have many christians and pastors with broken home. Better put, a good Christian should make a good spouse

I’ll say this once. Don’t make it a habit to be “helping out” in house chores. All these: “She’ll cook, I’ll wash plates” BS shouldn’t be happening in the first place. That’s her duty. To keep the home running. If you start giving her the power to tell you to do things in the house, sooner or later, both of you will start wearing the same trousers. She cooks. You eat. She takes your plate to the kitchen & wash it. You’re already providing for the house. That’s the least. she can do. Y’all have gotten too soft.

My son was 16 when he was hit by a drunk driver. He was in a coma for 3 months. The neurologist sat us down in a sterile conference room and laid out the scans. 'His brain stem is intact,' he said gently. 'But the rest... it’s dark. If he wakes up, he will be a vegetable. He will never speak, never know you, never feed himself. You need to consider long-term care facilities.' We refused. We brought him home. We set up a hospital bed in the living room. We played his favorite Led Zeppelin records. We read him comic books. We talked to him for 12 hours a day. Six months later, I was shaving his face, telling him a bad dad joke. He didn't just smile. He laughed. A croaky, dry laugh. Then he looked at me and said, 'That wasn't funny, Dad.' Today, he is finishing his engineering degree. He walks with a cane, but he walks. The doctor calls him an 'anomaly.' I call him a fighter. Never let a statistic determine your destiny.
