Moved to a new country, then the pandemic hit and everything shut down. Couldn’t go out, couldn’t meet anyone. Homesickness caused me to binge watch anything from back home (especially sports teams.) Then my best friend died. Her funeral was on Zoom. Suddenly I didn’t have the person I’d always text. I made a separate Twitter for the purpose of venting and chatting during games. It made me feel less alone. Found a community here I couldn’t access irl. Now it’s just part of my life. Grateful for it.
