Yesterday I posted this on Reddit in case it helps anyone else who wants to try DWD RTTY with FLDIGI: I was finally able to receive a clear RTTY signal from DWD. I could always see it, but I couldn't decode it because the signal was weak, and I also had a bit of trouble getting the FLDIGI settings right. The limited information available online about the settings never worked for me. That is, until I read here that someone mentioned it worked for them by switching to CW mode in the SDR# and FLDIGI. And that worked for me. I didn't get good reception with the MLA-30+, but the K-480WLA did the job. FLDIGI configuration:

DWD 2 Pinneberg RTTY 11039 kHz The video starts with the audible RTTY signal from DWD with SDR# and then the FLDIGI captured, zoomed in so you can see the text in the capture better. The MLite-800 is basically deaf on LW and MW. The DX-286 - winner! There are mods for it — it really needs shielding around the display, and the audio codec is noisy too.

Radio Ext. España 17715 kHz - Antenna comparison w/ the Standard C6500 When I recovered this radio, it worked fine with a long wire antenna, but when I tried the MLA-30+, the reception was very poor; it seemed to overload the radio. But I didn't worry about it, since the radio was working and that was enough. Today I tried the K-480WLA, and it worked better than I expected. The first 30 seconds of the video are with the standard wire antenna (16 AWG), approximately 30 meters long. You can hear some persistent background noise, but the reception is relatively clear. The next 30 seconds are with the K-480WLA, and you can hear that it significantly reduced the background noise and improved the reception quality. The last 15 seconds show how I made a basic connection to the Standard C6500. Now that I know it works, I'm going to build a custom connection for this device. New accessory for the hobby: K-480WLA People speak very highly of this antenna and say it's perfect for listeners. And other users who have upgraded from the MLA-30 to this antenna say it's very superior. Anyway, it's finally here, and this weekend I'll be doing the first tests—just as it is, with all its accessories and cables, without any modifications. The post/thread includes photos of the box and I've added photos with translations of some parts. I also bought some TNC-to-F adapters so I could test them with the RG6 cables I use with F-type connectors.

This is Rádio Inconfidência other (primary) frequency. The best-known frequency, which can be received in various parts of the world, is 15190 kHz. In January of this year, the 6010 kHz frequency became operational again on a continuous basis. Before that, the signal was intermittent because it was undergoing maintenance (which took some time). Even though Brazil is right next to me, I hardly ever pick up its signal on 6010 kHz. I very rarely hear anything, like I do now. I almost forgot about my promise—here’s what the MW spectrum looks like at my QTH. On a regular radio, these harmonics aren’t audible, but it also doesn’t let me hear what else is out there, outside the country. The MLA antenna is the best at regulating signal strength; other antennas overload the AirSpy HF+ As I headed further out of Asunción, I was able to pick up a few stations from Argentina and one from Uruguay, but that was it. Nothing from the other countries in the region. The government agency that regulates telecommunications here says that the bandwidth for MW stations is up to 10 kHz, but several of them actually reach 20 kHz. That bandwidth saturates any other signal that might be nearby. The image in the tweet is a summary of that.

Pinch me, am I dreaming? 1180 khz Radio Los Chukos from Santiago de Chuco, Peru with NSE Radio from Lima, Peru underneath (wiggly carrier on the right) this morning 1/2 hour before dawn. No sign of WHAM or Rebelde. Propagation is a magical thing.

WWHV (Hawaii) Time Signal - 15000 kHz I Never heard (received) before the female voice from the WWVH signal from Hawaii. Only the male voice from WWV from Colorado comes in clearly here in Paraguay. Last night there wasn't much activity on HF (for me), but I was able to pick up this signal and the time signal from Russia (previous tweet). RWM Moscow - Russian Time Signal Station 9996 kHz This is the first time I've listened to the Russian time signal. I'm not getting a good signal on almost anything tonight, but this one did come through from the shadows. The video contains 1 minute of CW with the station call sign, followed by one pulse per second. Unfortunately, there are a lot of MW stations here that are saturating the radio spectrum. I'm even sure that some of them exceed the allowed limits. I've only rarely been able to pick up anything from Argentina; other than that, nothing. As soon as I can, I'll take a screenshot of what the entire MW band looks like to show you.

@AlanDXSWL It's amazing to hear! Very exotic to my ears. I hear Paraguay sometimes - 920 and 970 khz are best - 730 sometimes as well. For the first time in many years I heard Bolivia on AM on 1560 a few nights ago. Magical stuff. You must hear some great things at night!!!!!!!

RTM Nasional FM - 15295 kHz I had read a couple of months ago that they were testing broadcasts on two shortwave frequencies—11885 kHz and 15295 kHz—but at low power. The station is operated by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), and it appears they are now broadcasting continuously. Santa Cruz HFDL (ID13) 13315 kHz with a voice giving instructions. I always thought that the frequencies assigned to HFDL are exclusive to this type of signal. This is the first time I've heard someone talking amid the HFDL bursts. It looks like he was giving instructions to an aircraft on the runway.
