@cfcnewsroom @CelticFC @spfl Good luck with that twat in charge. I was at the Motherwell Falkirk game last weekend and he was truly awful. Some of his decisions defied logic.

The SFA has confirmed the officiating team for Celtic's home match against St Mirren this weekend in the Scottish Premiership. Ahead of the game between third and tenth (at the time of writing), Scottish football's governing body has confirmed that Duncan Nicolson will take charge of proceedings, supported by Frank Connor and Scott Anderson on their respective touchlines. Away from the action, John Beaton will operate VAR, assisted in his duties by Duncan Williams at Clydesdale House. This will be the third game involving Celtic that Nicolson will officiate as on-field referee, following last December's 1-0 win over Dundee at Celtic Park, which was O'Neill's last game in charge before Wilfried Nancy's arrival.

@DavidBryson1985 Its not VAR that's the problem, it's the incompetent so called refs looking at the clear evidence then making crazy decisions.

Falkirk were by far the best team yday, deserved their win. However, they've been very lucky. Big decisions change games, and that's both games at FP now VAR has done us. Literally, what's the point if it's not gona be used how it's meant to be? Must be a way to force it out 🗑

@camer0n_mcd Sadly the ref was so inept someone could have caught him the same way and he still would have missed it. He took refereeing to a new low.

@codygers @Tam1350622 @AndrewWilson I'm not defending Slatterys actions; he was stupid and has been dealt with, albeit harshly. It's the fact that other instances of simulation have gone and will go unpunished. The Compliance Officer should now get involved in all similar incidents but he won't. No consistency.

@AlanGebbie1 @AndrewWilson @TEnglishSport It’s been adhered to for the 15 years it’s been force. There is no precedent. Simulation that results in a red card, penalty or goal gets a minimum 2 game ban.

@AndrewWilson Its disgusting, blatant cheating. So hit the cheats hard and they’ll stop doing it. Pretty simple. You’re also ignoring that St Mirren had a man sent off because of it. Given him a retrospective yellow doesn’t fix that, his cheating influenced that game

@TEnglishSport Agree of course. My beef is with a massive ban, with less than ten games to go effectively introducing a new policy approach so late on. And var should have caught it anyway. Totally consistent with the rest of the season.

@stmirrenretro @BBCSportScot The rule is not applied consistently. Slattery was stupid and rightly banned. Most weeks players try to get an opponent sent off by feigning injury but nothing is done. Selectively applying the rule makes a mockery of it.

Some Motherwell fans need a reality check... Yes we didnt play great last night but we still didnt lose, 3rd clean sheet in a row against 3 good teams & still 3rd!
