From next year, if your kids inherit your pension fund, they could pay 74% tax on the amount received through double tax (inheritance tax and income tax on the same fund). In, fact it could be as high as 84%. Madness!

Another one gone. He paid hundreds of £ millions in UK tax and donated £45m to UK charities. But he’s had enough and left now. Moved to Italy/Abu Dhabi. Guess who’ll have to pay even more tax now to make up the shortfall?

Charlie Munger warned us: “Show me the incentives and I’ll show you the outcome.” The UK government listened… and froze the tax allowance Then built a 62% marginal income tax rate for anyone earning between £100k–£125k. What does that incentive say? “Work harder - and we’ll take most of it.” “Push for promotion - and you’ll earn less.” “Build a business here - but don’t you dare succeed.” And then we wonder why: • People refuse overtime • Senior staff decline promotions • Entrepreneurs move overseas • Productivity flatlines This isn’t economics - it’s intentional self-sabotage.

With the Bank of England’s past record of forecasting, I think we can safely ignore this one. Strange announcement though.

Not only will many bereaved families have to pay inheritance tax on the deceased’s pension - if they don’t do it quickly, they’ll be fined and charged interest. Just seems vindictive at a difficult time.

Two things are happening in the UK at the same time: - AI companies are launching and scaling fast. - The government maintains an anti growth agenda. Imagine what could be achieved if we had a pro business administration in place.

“One wealthy Non Dom pays for the benefits of 50,000 people - who’s going to pick up that bill when they leave?” One of the UK’s most successful entrepreneurs, @SirTomHunter contacted the government and offered his ideas, advice and support - for free. He didn’t even get a reply… Full conversation on the Bulletproof Entrepreneur podcast.

It gets worse… Key Facts from NEST’s Official Reports (as of late 2025) Equities allocation (default Retirement Date Funds, which cover ~99% of members): - ~40%+ in “Climate aware global developed equities” - ~3.5-5% in “Climate aware global emerging market equities.” - 1.3% private equity, ~0.9% thematic equities, ~0.5% Sharia-compliant equities.

13.8 million UK employees are enrolled in @nestpensions. This is a very bad idea and will come back to bite. If your employer uses NEST for your company pension scheme, you should start asking questions.

Said this before but I’ll say it again. Just one lifetime ago in the UK, our fathers could buy a home, buy a car, have 3 to 4 children, wives could stay home, take annual vacations, and then retire… all on one middle-class salary. What happened?
