My first first-author paper is out! A slightly long thread, but what else are long weekends for?

My lab is looking for a new lab manager/research assistant! research-princeton.icims.com/jobs/18605/res… We are especially interested in computationally-oriented people who want to understand learning behavior & are thinking of grad school in the future (though ideally this is a two year job). /1

We are excited to announce an alpha release of our new HSSM python-based toolbox! HSSM (hierarchical sequential sampling modeling) is a completely overhauled package, replacing HDDM as a much more general and computationally efficient successor. github.com/lnccbrown/HSSM

@AlanaJaskir Thanks for the detailed response! Re: the relative amount of expression - no idea. Interesting to wonder if/how relative D1/D2 levels might vary (and perhaps shift!) to give you a sort of continuum of responses between pure D1 or D2.

@SchreinerDrew We don’t make any assumptions about D1 vs D2 in the critic though! Another possibility to explore. Will need to think more about it! Thanks for the thought-provoking question!

@SchreinerDrew The actors, whose D1/D2 dynamics I show in the thread, are what contribute to action selection. The critic evaluates those choices. Looking quickly at the preprint, looks like dorsal (i.e. actors) shows a little less co-expressing than other areas.
