I get the point Tacha is making sexual harassment and assault are serious issues, no doubt. But saying “every single woman in Nigeria” has experienced it is where I disagree. You don’t need to make it absolute for it to be real. A large number of women having these experiences is already enough to prove there’s a problem. When it’s exaggerated, people stop focusing on the issue and start arguing the accuracy instead. Also, “not all men” can be annoying, but it comes from people not wanting to be grouped with offenders. That doesn’t mean the issue isn’t serious it just means the conversation gets less productive when it turns into generalization. The truth is: enough women are affected, and enough men are responsible men and or silent. Men are also victims of rap and sexual assault, i was a victim too. That alone should be the focus.
