Last night at Costco my register was beeping a major third higher than all the other registers and I was like “do you guys hear that??” And they were all like “no”😭😭😂

@janesue821 😂😂Ty. I am an educational mudblood who got my work ethic from a very high quality public school and I am forever on a mission to teach homeschooled kids that assignments are not a suggestion.

Me to my homeschooled students when they tell me they were “too busy” to practice. Put down your Wingfeather saga or your Charlotte Mason handcrafts or whatever, give yourself a homeschool high five, and lock in. I do not care.

My students really do not know how good they have it sometimes. When they are making me annoyed sometimes I’m thinking, “you could have a RUSSIAN”

@Presbypianist Some days I have the empathy and some days I don’t. Today my student almost hit me w his Napoleon Dynamite bowstaff when I walked in and proceeded to have a terrible lesson. Bröther if you are gonna be a huge dork please at least be good at this instrument.

@thruforestswild I got her to understand why this important by asking her what her mom does when she gets spelling words wrong on a practice test. Does she copy every word again or just the ones she has wrong? The hard measures are the wrong spelling words. 🙂

@AlaskanKate This is like when I tell my kids to start saying the alphabet in the middle. They have to whisper A through whatever letter to themselves first. Or “count by 3s starting with 18” Can’t do it.

WHAT is the psychological aversion every single one of my students has to starting at a measure that isn’t the beginning??? I’ll be like “let’s start at measure 10” and I can almost SEE their brains short-circuiting. The children yearn for the inefficient practice habits. 😭😂

Two siblings I teach both don’t like to count so I’ve just had the absolutely genius idea to make them play a duet in the recital. It’s like the getting-along shirt for musicians.
