🔍 Scout Report – Miguel Chaiwa | Hibernian FC Miguel Chaiwa has been a bright spark in a rollercoaster of a season for Hibs. The Zambian international has been subject to transfer speculation of late, with Celtic and European clubs reportedly keen. Here's why 🧵👇 (1/8)

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Steve Clarke's squad might have been a foregone conclusion for a long time, but here's the 26 I'd have liked to see get on the plane 👇

@HitTheByline @scotball_ @FP_Scotland I get the McBurnie point, just leaving him at home with his 17 league goals doesn't sit right with me. I struggled with the centre halves especially with Hanley now probably out. Could easily be Welsh or Findlay in there I just really enjoy watching big Luke Graham play

Close to being what I’d pick to be honest. Personally I wouldn’t have McBurnie, but based on his season, it wouldn’t bother me if he did get called up. This one is maybe controversial, but if he wasn’t experienced, John Souttar wouldn’t be in my squad. His performance levels have dropped off a cliff and has been making notable mistakes for club and country. Basing off this season, Stephen Welsh or Stuart Findlay should be there.

Ceiling & Recommendation Chaiwa has been improving all season and has benefitted from consistent starts following an injury to fellow midfielder Josh Mulligan. He is currently one of the best defensive-minded midfielders in the league and at just 21, he will only continue to improve. I believe Chaiwa has a very high ceiling and it’s only a matter of time before we see him back playing at a club in the Champions League. Specifically, any such team deploying a double pivot, pairing him with a more disciplined defensive midfielder, would maximize his effectiveness. (8/8)

Summary Miguel Chaiwa is a high-energy and combative defensive midfielder who excels at disrupting play via interceptions and recoveries before progressing his team up the pitch through carries of the ball. His strong physical profile is also key in how effective he can carry out his duties. His game could improve by getting on the ball more regularly to distribute, which in turn would also improve his composure when passing – resulting in fewer turnovers. For all the great things Chaiwa can do, he could really step up a level by doing them on a more consistent basis. (7/8)

World Cup 2026 ⚽️ Scotland Strikers 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 - Data Analysis 📊 In this thread I'll compare 10 potential Scotland Centre Forwards over 8 different metrics ahead of Steve Clarke announcing the squad in the next couple of weeks. It's important to say from the offset that context is important when comparing players in different leagues, you may believe a player's performance in Serie A more relevant to International Football than the English Championship. All data sourced via Wyscout and Fotmob, data accurate as per 7th May. Thread below 🧵👇

It does feel like there's a massive rebuild on Rangers' hands. Objectively speaking, many of these players are quality on their day, it's just that their day is few and far between. Pressures of being at Rangers possibly? I'd suspect a few more Scottish players who know the league inside out would make a world of difference.

🧵 Now the season is (basically) over, a lot of the chat is on Danny Rohl staying or going… but we have a load of players who need to move on. Here’s a thread of the entire squad, and who I think should stay and go. Trying to not be fully reactive to just the last 2/3 weeks, where I would happily lose all of them 😬

Ceiling and Recommendation Stewart’s performances and returns show he’s already at the level required to be the number 9 for a mid-table Scottish Premiership team. His trajectory of late has been positive, and should it continue, he’ll soon be ready for a step up to one of the best teams in Scotland or a mid-table EFL Championship side. However, I do think learning from John McGlynn for as long as possible will be greatly beneficial to his development. In terms of how far he can go and his projected ceiling, I see no reason why he can’t reach the levels of a lower-tier Premier League side and should earn a full Scotland cap in due course.

Summary Barney Stewart is a clinical centre-forward who excels when given chances inside the box. His varied and effective movement creates space for himself in dangerous areas, or to benefit teammates. Stewart’s aerial ability is another dimension that elevates his game and makes him a constant threat in the box. His ability as a target man has improved of late but needs to be continually refined to further hone his decision making of when to link up play and develop his distribution. This will likely come naturally the more professional football he plays, having only made the jump in the last 18 months.

🔍 Scout Report - Barney Stewart (Falkirk FC) Barney Stewart has had a whirlwind 18 months from university football to PFA Scotland SPFL YPOTY nominee. After a stellar season, Stewart will no doubt be hot property as we approach the Summer transfer window. Here's why 🧵👇
