@Kalshi Sub‑10% isn’t 0%. Markets are basically pricing in a soft landing + no policy mistake + no exogenous shock. Great if it holds, but this is exactly when people forget tails exist.

Where to start if you have nothing: → Open a TFSA if you don't have one → Contribute even $50/month → Buy XEQT. Don't touch it. You're not going to out-negotiate the US on a bridge deal. But you can quietly build something they can't take from you.

Canada keeps funding things it doesn't fully own. The bridge. The resources. Housing propped up by foreign capital. We do the work. Someone else takes the upside. The only way out: Build your own asset base. TFSA. ETFs. Real estate. Own something.

@ShaziGoalie Canada built the bridge. The US collected the rent. Whoever controls the terms of the deal wins — not whoever does the work. Own the asset. Own the upside. Don't just fund it.

Trump just showed Canada exactly what leverage looks like. Canada financed the Gordie Howe Bridge. The U.S. refused to pay, delayed the opening, then walked away with 50% of toll revenue and influence over future toll increases. We paid for the asset. America negotiated the upside. Canada lost the deal.

What "invest the gap" actually looks like: → Max your TFSA first ($7,000/yr) → Drop it into XEQT or VEQT → Forget it exists You're not buying a house with one paycheque. But you can build real wealth one contribution at a time.

Canada added 18,000 jobs in June. Cool. The average Toronto home is still $1.2M. $70K salary after tax = ~$4,500/month. Mortgage on that home = ~$6,000/month. The job market isn't the problem. The math is. Build income streams. Invest the gap. There's no other way out.
