@terryt1919@FisherSpeaks What I said actually is the largely white belly would suggest the possibility of a Black-Headed x Rose-Breasted hybrid. An adult Black-Headed would show largely orange instead of white, immature birds could maybe show this amount of white but it would be unusual.

This Whooping Crane hatched in Wood Buffalo in 2019, spending the summer of 2020 wandering the prairies. Thrilling birders along Bittern Lake, it spent several weeks in the area this August. A banding info certificate is being sent to us shortly #bird#birding#rarebird#alberta
Thanks to all who have followed so far. My goal was to have much more content updated this past weekend. Bad news, that didn't happen. Good news, my son was born! Now that I have a second pair of eyes to confirm all my sightings, we'll get back to updating the website shortly.
The importance of taking the time to check every bird. On May 9, I came across this single gull sitting in a puddle NW of Edmonton by Egg Lake. I was definitely not expecting a Mew Gull #birding#birds#alberta#rarity#rarebird
The Lesser Black-Backed Gull has returned to Pearce Estate Park in Calgary! A staple of the park for the past 5 years, it is largely assumed this same individual returns annually. It can often be seen along the kayak run #birding#birds#twitch#Albertayoutu.be/ov_9XdrsboU
Our first entry in our series "The Twitch," where we hunt down rare birds across Alberta! This Red Phalarope has been putting on a show for birders in Calgary #birding#birds#Alberta#twitchyoutu.be/NdRHyG-mvGc
