I think Chrono Trigger's biggest appeal was the seamless transitions to combat, that was pretty unique for a SNES RPG. That and its pixel-art made its charm for me.
I don't think a 3D remake would bring anything really interesting to this game tbh

Yacht Club Games next game 'Mina the Hollower' is a make or break. They laid of staff of its 3D platformer project and set the game on hold to focus on Mina. They need to sell at least 200K copies and if the game is a hit, there could be a sequel. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
