Interesting question.
Both nations were forged by immigration and by waves of Europeans who came to the Americas searching for a better future. Both built constitutions and republican systems inspired by similar ideals.
But the biggest cultural difference, to me, is this:
In Argentina, family and friends come first, above almost anything else.
In America, what you do tends to define who you are.
Argentina optimizes more for relationships and belonging.
America optimizes more for achievement and ambition.

Today, all our kids became Naturalized Argentinian.
They are now Argentine-American.

Argentina can borrow in dollars until October 2027 at about 5.02% annual yield.
To borrow just one year longer, until October 2028, investors demanded 8.5%.
Why the difference?
Argentina has a presidential election in 2027. .
In plain English: investors are much more confident Argentina will pay while Milei is in office than they are after a possible Peronist/Kirchnerist return.
Tip: Don’t elect people the bond market thinks are less likely to pay their debts. They're not going to do good things for your country.

The Graham Platner tattoo controversy is not about youthful mistakes. It is about the specificity of the Totenkopf. The Democrats are so desperate to flip a Maine Senate seat that they have abandoned every moral red line they once claimed to hold. A year ago I asked him to speak at a high school, he immediately said yes, took time out of his busy schedule, and went to speak to the Jewish students at Beverly High about being strong and proud of who they are.
