Love all the negative comments about HOA's...they really are not all the same. And yes, I am on the HOA Board where I live, and there's a reason I decided to do so...so I know exactly what is going on. Some may not agree but we, speaking about us only as I don't know about others, actually only do what's in the best interest of the community. Protect home values, upkeep common areas, and try to keep our core values and a nice place to live. One of the biggest issues are owners who rent their houses then fail to upkeep them properly or pay dues.
