I think this is wrong in contexts where papers or books are often written for experts within a narrow field. Having AI summarize an econometric literature as an applied microeconomist has been a game changer for me.

Economics was never a predictive science in the way that the natural sciences are. It cannot be, as is the case for all social science. But it can discover laws of human behavior, which help us understand the world. They are immutable and thus predictive, only not quantitatively.
