I think you're missing the distinction I'm making. I'm not arguing that piracy doesn't exist for other series.
My point is that Re:Zero has an unusually accessible, free, legal version of the story that closely mirrors the Light Novel. Those are not the same thing.
For most readers, opening a freely available legal website is significantly lower friction than searching for pirated Light Novel volumes.
On top of that, LN readers eventually have to switch over to the WN if they want to catch up to the current story, since the Web Novel is ahead of the Light Novel.
Due to this the Light Novel sales are surpressed unusually more for Re:Zero compared to other series. Yes, all series deal with pirates, but only re:zero and a select few others also have a free legal option.
