Hell, since it’s a slime, make it so you can place chests inside it, which would make it blast resistant or something— a good alternative to water without being messy.

Don't get me wrong, the mob is cool, but it should be more hostile, in my opinion, and it should drop an item that can be crafted into a block where you can place those random other blocks inside it and use it to play putt-putt or whatever.
