There is growing evidence that the Russians continue to provide the Iranian regime with intelligence support. This is clearly destructive activity, and it must be stopped, as it only leads to further destabilization. All decent states are interested in guaranteeing security and preventing a larger crisis. Markets are already reacting negatively, and this is significantly complicating the fuel situation in many countries. By helping the Iranian regime stay afloat and strike more accurately, Russia is effectively prolonging the war. There must be a response.

Another proof of this is the performance of our national Paralympic team at the Winter Paralympic Games in Italy. Nineteen medals. That is an outstanding result. Today, I honored the champions and medalists of the 14th Winter Paralympic Games, 2026, as well as their coaches, with state awards. At these Games, our flag rose repeatedly, and Ukraine’s national anthem rang out in victory again – and all of this unites Ukrainians in two emotions: great pride and gratitude. To each and every one of you – the athletes, the coaches, the administrators, every member of our national team, and everyone who made this success possible – thank you.

Росія використовує власні спроможності радіотехнічної та радіоелектронної розвідки, а також частину даних по взаємодії від партнерів на Близькому Сході. Друге: ГУР у регулярному форматі надає оцінку ситуації на фронті та внутрішню російську інформацію щодо активності на полі бою. Російське командування постійно намагається прибільшити досягнення російських військ на передовій і в подальшому використовувати такі перебільшені дані штабу угруповання російського окупаційного контингенту в переговорному процесі. Третє: маємо чітку інформацію, що Росія планує подальше розгортання наземних станцій управління безпілотниками дальньої дії як на тимчасово окупованій території України, так і чотирьох станцій на території Білорусі. Будемо реагувати відповідно. Доручив Олегу Іващенку поінформувати партнерів і представників медіа щодо тих даних, які можемо зробити відкритими.

Report by Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Oleh Ivashchenko. First, we have irrefutable evidence that the Russians continue to provide intelligence to the Iranian regime. Russia is using its own signals intelligence and electronic intelligence capabilities, as well as part of the data obtained through cooperation with partners in the Middle East. Second, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine regularly provides assessments of the situation on the frontline, as well as internal Russian information regarding activity on the battlefield. The Russian command constantly seeks to exaggerate the achievements of Russian forces on the frontline and subsequently use such inflated data from the headquarters of the Russian occupation contingent grouping in the negotiation process. Third, we have clear information that Russia is planning further deployment of ground-based control stations for long-range UAVs in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as four stations in Belarus. We will respond accordingly. I have instructed Oleh Ivashchenko to inform partners and media representatives about the data that we can make public.

Zelensky: We want sufficient security guarantees for Ukraine and the whole of Europe in order to achieve lasting peace.

We must have the ability to give a strong response to the threat. That is why we are talking about a joint European defense policy. That is why we need American backstop. That is why Europe needs Ukraine. The Ukrainian army is the strongest army in Europe. Thanks to our heroes. And I think it is simply not smart to keep this army outside NATO. But at the very least, let that be your decision, friends – not Putin’s.

During my meeting with President of Czechia Petr Pavel @prezidentpavel, we discussed military support for Ukraine. I thanked him for the Czech initiative to supply ammunition to our country and for its continuation. We expect ammunition deliveries to proceed without any delays. We also spoke about cooperation in joint defense programs, including Czechia’s possible participation in the PURL initiative and the prospects of implementing joint projects under the SAFE instrument. Thank you for the meeting and for all the support provided to Ukraine.

During the meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio @SecRubio, I briefed him on the situation at the front, Russian strikes, and the impact of attacks on Ukraine’s energy system. We discussed how to help Ukraine protect lives during the winter cold and strengthen our resilience. We also had a detailed discussion about the diplomatic process and trilateral meetings. It is crucial that the talks planned in Geneva be productive, and I thank the United States for their constructive approach. We also addressed the matter of sequencing steps. It is important to make progress on the issues of security guarantees and economic recovery. I am grateful to the United States and to every American heart for the substantial support provided to Ukraine.

I had a conversation with envoys of President Trump, @SteveWitkoff and @JaredKushner, ahead of the trilateral meetings in Geneva. We count on the meetings being truly productive. We also discussed some developments following the meetings in Abu Dhabi. Not everything can be shared over the phone, and our negotiating team will present Ukraine’s position next week. I also spoke about our meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. We greatly appreciate that America consistently maintains a constructive approach and is ready to assist in protecting lives. I thank President Trump, his team, and the people of the United States for their support.

Thank you for taking a principled stance, Piers. The IOC’s decision is indeed morally appalling.

There is an important initiative in the U.S. Congress that could provide more tools for the right pressure on Russia. Now is the best time to pass the Sanctioning Russia Act. Strong sanctions can support diplomatic efforts and, together, ensure the necessary outcome. Everyone in the world can see that Moscow is not listening to words and requests and is not responding to them reasonably. While America is investing so much time and effort in diplomacy, Russia continues to invest only in its missiles and drones and carries on with attacks despite requests from our American partners to refrain from doing so for a week. Last night saw a record-breaking attack in the number of ballistic missiles fired: 43 missiles of various types, approaching their targets along a ballistic trajectory. There were also 28 cruise missiles and 450 attack drones. The Russians deliberately waited for the coldest days and launched this attack when many of our cities were at -20 degrees Celsius or -4 degrees Fahrenheit. All Russian targets in Ukraine are energy facilities exclusively. This also means that human lives and the diplomatic process are effectively targets for the Russians as well. We must pressure Russia so that it invests not in war, not in escalation, but in ending the war that it started in the first place. We thank everyone who stands with Ukraine. We thank everyone who helps protect lives.

The U.S. Congress has long been working on a new sanctions bill, and it is important that there be progress on it. European partners can take decisive steps regarding Russian oil tankers earning for the war. Russia must feel pressure so that it moves in negotiations toward peace.
