@TeamYouTube Hello! I got a copyright strike for a video that I didn't use in my video. My video and the video of the author who filed the strike are just similar. My appeal is denied. What should I do?
@TeamYouTube Hello! After I took the screenshots, you didn’t answer me anymore, I would like to ask you did something to revoke the strike? I would also like to discuss with you the second undeserved strike in my opinion.
@Alex20509587 Thanks for the info – mind sharing the video URL in question and a screenshot of the copyright owner's email to you so that we can take a closer look? Keep us posted.
@TeamYouTube Hi! My channel (youtube.com/channel/UC7UQl…)
received several strikes for copyright infringement, but these strikes are not deserved because my videos meet the rules of "fair use".I have already filed several appeals, but they were all rejected. How can I remove strikes?
@TeamYouTube My deleted videos are humorous and are essentially short "memes". I am from Russia and the author who threw me a strike from America. I tried to contact him and he wrote to me that he would ask YouTube to withdraw the strike, but a month has passed and the video has not restored.
@Alex20509587 Appreciate the info – Fair Use is determined on a case by case basis, and different countries have different rules about when it’s okay to use material without the copyright owner’s permission. More info: yt.be/help/eS6q. Hope this helps.
@TeamYouTube I do not want to ask the plaintiff for a review or for the case to go to court. Since my content does not break the rules and the appeals are denied, it is possible that I am not appealing correctly. Do you have an example of how to appeal in fair use cases?
@Alex20509587 If you think that your content were falsely claimed, you can either request for a retraction from the claimant or submit a counter notification (this will start a legal process). More info here: yt.be/help/fhTF. Also, note that YouTube can't mediate w/ copyright claims.
