It's brilliant to welcome more than 500 local primary schoolchildren to @stablesmk today to enjoy performances of The Storm Whale performed by the brilliant musicians of Ensemble 360 brought to use by @MusicintheRound - it's fabulous to see the enthusiasm of the children.

Academic purity completely has its place, but perhaps those who criticise should concentrate their efforts on convincing heads of schools and trusts of music’s intrinsic value in enriching young people instead. Then in years to come we can debate sonata form on prime @BBCRadio3.
