85 years ago Charlie Chaplin made the greatest speech of the century (playing a mock version of Hitler). We'd be wise to heed his words TODAY as they are incredibly appropriate now, just as they were in 1940. Don't bow down to dictators. _Fight_. (©️"The Great Dictator", 1940)

RUSSIANS are behind all this rise in extremist political movements worldwide.👇 This is why supporting Ukraine is crucial today, in any way we can. Russia must lose and lose badly, and its global agents network must go bankrupt and collapse.

In 2025, hundreds of Germans discovered their car exhausts stuffed with construction foam. Sticker on their cars declaring "Be greener!" A staffer shared a DW article about the operation and reported to Zakharova: "They are writing about us." 5/10

@TheMG3D Of course the Pope hates AI. To be honest, the religious leaders had one_job to do. To warn us if we steer dangerously close to what their prophets warned about centuries/millenia ago. AI threats is the one topic they should not shy away from, at all.

Erin Brockovich has launched a website and has begun tracking all data centers in America and logging resident complaints In just 1 week it’s already logged 1,690 resident complaints For this who don’t remember Erin Brockovich was the paralegal responsible for winning out a case against PG&E, Hinckley in California, because their wastewater runoff was seeping into rural areas and creating a lot of health issues for, for the surrounding neighborhoods That case brought in a $333 million settlement that went to the families affected by the situation because a lot of them either had staggering medical bills due to their tap water was no longer safe So why is this important, well residents all over America are reporting their tap water and river water is being heavily polluted by data centers Her map of data centers is new, she just launched it The website features an interactive US map showing operational, under-construction, and proposed AI data centers, overlaid with community-reported complaints Residents can submit reports with details, photos, and locations. Within days of launch, it received a surge of submissions over 1,600 in the first week, and reports of 1,800+ from 47 states shortly after Common Resident Complaints Being Logged - Water usage - Raising utility bills for residents - Noise pollution: Constant 24/7 humming from fans, generators, and cooling systems disrupting sleep, daily life, and wildlife. - E-waste from frequent hardware upgrades, pollution including PFAS concerns

Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together. In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness. #MagnificaHumanitas vatican.va/content/leo-xi…

@algore Yes. Will you sponsor/spearhead unilateral efforts at solar geoengineering _today_? Not when permafrost is melted and the feedback is unstoppable – but Today? You know independent groups of people are already launching those balloons right_now. Or we still 🤞hoping for sane gov?

Twenty years ago today, An Inconvenient Truth made its debut in movie theaters across the U.S. I’ll be honest: I was skeptical that my slideshow about the climate crisis could become a successful movie. But thanks to our immensely talented director, Davis Guggenheim, Jeff Skoll, who made the ultimate decision to make the movie, and the incredible team behind the film — Laurie David, Lawrence Bender, Scott Z. Burns, Lesley Chilcott, Ricky Strauss, Diane Weyermann, and so many others, the film was a huge success, and opened the eyes of millions around the world to the threat posed by the climate crisis. While I wasn’t sure that there’d be widespread public interest in a science-based slideshow, I have never doubted humanity’s ability to solve this crisis. We know we must act, and Mother Nature is making that clearer and clearer every day. We’re already feeling the rapidly worsening impacts of a warming planet. Those impacts are evidence that our cause is even more urgent than it was 20 years ago. And as a result, the global movement for climate action has grown into the largest morally-based movement in the history of the world. We also know now that we can act. Indeed, in the past 20 years, we’ve made tremendous progress: The world came together in 2015 to forge the historic Paris Agreement, which despite the recent U.S. withdrawal, continues to drive global action and ambition. Incredibly, last year, renewables made up 86% of all the new electric power installed around the world. In the U.S., renewables were 92% of all new power capacity! Electric vehicles are now 25% of all new car sales worldwide and the sales of gasoline-powered vehicles have been declining since they peaked in 2017. Unfortunately, however, the crisis is still getting worse faster than we are deploying the solutions — solutions that are now way cheaper than the dirty and dangerous fossil fuels still spewing heat-trapping pollution into the sky as if it is an open sewer. So, while this is a natural occasion to reflect on the 20 years since the movie came out, I’m focused much more intensely on what we need to do now in order to shape what our world will look like in the next 20 years. I’m still presenting my updated slideshow all over the world, training grassroots climate leaders and working with partners in 194 countries and territories who are creating change in their communities, in their workplaces and schools, and in their nation’s policies. From what I’m seeing and hearing, I have no doubt that we will win this struggle. But it is still not clear that we will win it in time to avoid catastrophic damage and the dangerous negative tipping points that the climate scientists have long been warning us we must prevent. Will we muster the moral courage and political will to solve this crisis? Well, if you ever doubt our ability to do so, just remember that political will is itself a renewable resource. It’s up to all of us to renew it. Photos: Still from An Inconvenient Truth, 2006. Climate Reality Project training in Nashville, TN, 2026.

@LuizaJarovsky This is all well and good and sound, but we will have zero control and "taming power" over SUPERintelligent AI just as ants have ZERO "taming power" over us. _Intelligence_ is what rules the planet. We are about to spawn an alien more_intelligent than us.☠️ We must NEVER succeed.

@secretsqrl123 the WHOLE world would be a far better place the moment this imperialist russian regime is gone. But the damage is already done and ru-agents and assets already in positions of power in some western (ex-)democracies. Dangerous times.

Ex-OpenAI researcher and AI 2027 author Daniel Kokotajlo says that once superintelligence is built, humans won't be in control of the planet, not by default, anyway. He says it's an open secret that there isn't even a good plan for how to control AI vastly smarter than humans.

Trump's stock trading is even worse than you thought. One trade after another was followed by Trump making suspiciously timed comments boosting the companies he invested in. Boeing, Robinhood, Palantir — in each case Trump bought the stock then publicly praised the companies.
