The Air War College asked @KoriSchake not to give a scheduled lecture on civil-military relations—a subject that she writes is “extremely relevant” in the current political climate. Here’s what she would have said: theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/03/…

🤯 WOW: Lithuanian basketball rivals unite to chant support for Ukraine. Fans of Žalgiris and Rytas stunned the arena, pausing their feud to chant Ukrainian slogans in a massive show of solidarity.

The world is getting tired of Ukraine Slowly. Quietly The focus shifts Now it’s the Middle East I understand - A war that lasts years Is not “interesting” anymore But our war didn’t end Ukraine is still fighting Still making russia weak And we are still dying - Soldiers, civilians, children Even if you don’t see it in the news Ukraine is no longer a headline But we are still here Still fighting not only for ourselves - But for Europe’s future And we still need your support

While the world’s attention has been on Iran and the Gulf, Ukraine has been quietly cutting away at Russia’s control over eastern Ukraine. In the last three weeks Ukraine has won back an area of more than 300 square miles.

STUBB: As a Finn, I’m more worried about how an Iran war affects the war in Ukraine, which we care deeply about. We’re now seeing higher oil prices that fuel Russia’s war machine, the US is lifting sanctions on Russian oil. Everything is connected, so we must refocus on Ukraine.

The ‘no quarter’ comment by the SecDef and this ‘just for fun’ remark by the President tells me there was never a clear strategy for this war. And at this point, three weeks in, they are just making up objectives as they stumble along all while our troops are put at risk and Americans are paying for it at the pump.

Fiona Hill, former White House advisor on Russia: "What Putin is negotiating, or trying to, is Trump handing over Ukraine to him: forcing Ukraine to capitulate, holding new elections, installing a new proxy leader, demilitarizing, neutralizing, and neutering Ukraine so it becomes essentially Belarus. That is not in the interests of Ukrainians; that's not what they want to negotiate."

In the 16th century Lithuania was already renowned as Europe's largest producer of honey: 'Nowhere is the honey clearer, or has less beeswax. From here cargoes of beeswax are carried in ships to the Low Countries, France, and Spain...' (Jan Łasicki, writing in the 1550s)
Dakas ‡@Dakasr2

Only four countries in the world produce more honey per person than Lithuania. Yes - Lithuania is 5th globally 🐝🍯🇱🇹 For a small country in Northern Europe, this is impressive. Beekeeping has deep traditions in Lithuania, and thousands of people are involved in it -often keeping hives near their homes in the countryside. A small country… but a big love for honey🍯 S: metric_mode_stats (IG) 2025

Fascinating candid honesty from CINCFLEET Admiral Jock Slater to the 1st Sea Lord (Admiral Oswald) in 1991 about how cynical sailors were over "smaller but better" noting "we have yet to declare what will be better"...

It’s crazy that Ukraine has provided more military aid to the US this year than the US has provided to Ukraine. What’s even crazier is that Ukraine is the country currently at war, fighting for its existence. Let that sink in.

🇱🇹 Lithuania marks the Day of the Restoration of Independence Lithuania became the first republic to declare its withdrawal from the USSR and the restoration of its state independence after the Soviet occupation. On March 11, Lithuania celebrates one of the country’s main national holidays — the Day of the Restoration of Independence. It was on this day in 1990 that the Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania signed the Act on the Restoration of the Independent State. Today, a ceremony of raising the flags of the three Baltic states took place at Independence Square near the Seimas of Lithuania. A ceremonial honor guard unit and a military band also marched along Gediminas Avenue to Cathedral Square.
