@oatfedgoat @StewartGH1970 @AndyBoutle @Ben_on_BIM You will find much of the time that it is the contractor who pays employee and employer NI from their day rate. What IR35 is driving is a lot of inflexibility within the employment sector. Construction workflows of peaks and troughs likely mean higher redundancy rates.
English

@StewartGH1970 @AndyBoutle @Ben_on_BIM A complex situation, but essentially agency long term staff are now paying more tax as PAYE which has shrunk the gulf between perm rates and agency rates.
And yeah, all the benefits you listed contribute.

Working overtime on a new project this weekend to empower kids everywhere. Calling on my forever friends - the inspirational #AEC community that has always had my back, to lend me their ears. @MicrosoftUK and @MicrosoftEDU employees - your help would be incredible too. Please RT.

@LDN_BIMman @DigiConWeek @DECinSchools @educationgovuk It needs to happen and more people within the Industry should be supporting it. The eco-classrooms are such brilliant days. I love them.

@annaturley @VictoriaLIVE 22 years living with pain and everything else that comes with this disease before my diagnosis and by then I was in so much pain I couldn’t walk without being very heavily drugged. Even 13 years later, 3 major ops later, a totally GF diet, I can still at times struggle.

At the BBC to talk about their excellent report on #endometriosis on @VictoriaLIVE. It’s a condition which affects 1 in 10 women but diagnosis is very slow & the condition can be debilitating. Important to raise awareness cos we don’t talk about it because it is ......#menstrual

@sarahrocklaw @Cristiano Totally agree. Saw it in my parents and extended family and I always try to give 100% and do the best I can, sometimes it doesn’t work, but I try to learn from that.
English

@AlexCGrounds @Cristiano I want to be the best at every thing I do too It’s a work ethic and mental attitude that (not only but often) comes from that start in life
English

Late with this but still so moved by the @Cristiano interview Very misunderstood but hugely inspirational man My childhood friends & I who had such similar backgrounds sobbed through it But it made us feel proud of our work and social mobility like he rightly is

On returning to @GowlingWLG_UK after a client lunch today I was walking to the office and a gentleman approached me, wafted his hand in front of his nose and said to my face ‘f@!%ing lesbian’ WOW Are people still questioning why we need @PrideInLondon

Here’s an article from CES on @DECinSchools and the impact it had on @Ambrose6form student Stephen Harvey, who is now an assistant land surveyor for Jacobs:

@ClassofYourOwn @Twitter @Cambridge_Uni @cambtweetarchit So so pleased you turned out today. It is great to get young aspiring architects into a school, it really helps illuminate and have a peer and age group relatable people come In to support @ClassofYourOwn #ecoclassroom #construction I hope you enjoyed it and come back again.
English

A triumph! The power of @twitter and superb students from @Cambridge_Uni - huge thanks to @cambtweetarchit for getting the word out in record time. We now have TWO architecture students super keen to support our #DEC students. Thank you SO MUCH to Marcus, Gréta and Adam. Respect.

@becdecicco @clarkrob I know this is a very rough broad brush answer, but take a look at the organisation you work in/for, see the people in the various roles to show you the issue for the industry. To change it, it has to be a major cultural change for the industry to move forward.
English

@clarkrob This is just horrible Rob. I cant get my head around it - especially now for me personally. I think its just terrible. How do we change it?
