@klwoodjr I agree. However, you have to think about it from their side. They’re not going to come out and say “we suck. We need changes across the board.” They have to maintain this positivity to avoid the headlines. The Nats front office has always played things very close to the chest.

Good morning Nats Central At this point, I don’t know what to say. I just feel hopeless about the future. I love this team, but the continuous ignoring of the flaws of the team from Mike Rizzo has rubbed me the wrong way. Even a little accountability would go a long way, but the way he talks on the radio every week makes it seem like they are still in contention when we’re very far from that, and the fanbase just wants and deserves honesty. We have dealt with shitty baseball for a long time, and we deserve the truth from the guys running the ship. I hope everyone has a great Thursday

I miss @FightinHydrant so much. It was nice to have someone who would actually criticize bad plays made by the team and comment on what went wrong instead of listening to Kevin Frandsen who refuses to acknowledge poor play. He is absolutely unbearable.

@granthpaulsen I’m not expecting them to go after the top tier of FA’s, but it’s time to stop with the one year signings who you hope to flip at the deadline. I think a guy like Christian Walker makes total sense. Gold glove with power and veteran leadership to help the young core.

The Nationals have five players on their payroll that make more than $1M dollars. It is time to spend money. I ask again, where would they be without Rizzo and baseball ops acquiring a stellar core of young players in trades? The current payroll looks like a Marlins or A’s operation in a lean year. Time to spend some money.
